AtUrCervix -> Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/23/2016 8:04:02 PM)

Can't remember if I took my sleeping pills!!! (I never sleep well).

Did get the new TV (and the fan....thank you for all the recommendations....good stuff....not at all sure how the fan comes in to play but....I bought one nonetheless). Both help me sleep....again....thank you. Everyone (Would NOT have figured it out on my own).

New TV cost me 500 bucks ($465.00 {including tax to be exact}.....crazy....50 something inches). Crazy shit....same TV 7 years ago cost me $1,900.00.

My guys put it up for me when I was at work....the (old) DVD thingie doesn't work yet...not sure why that is.

Why the hell don't they make a TV with a DVD thingie in it?????

Kinda seems a bit obvious.....doesn't it?

Right? TV.....DVD....etc. (It's kind of a match....wouldn't you think????)

I don't give a shit about having internet on my TV (don't do the netflix/hulu thing....wouldn't know how anyway)....jus' wanna watch TV (or sleep to it).

Fuck....I'm such an incapable human being....I can't balance a checkbook....or fucking hook up a gawdamn TV.

Thank goodness I can negotiate shit.

I had a tv with the dvd built in, but it was before the super thin sets, so maybe that won't work anymore. Did anyone suggest taking magnesium supplements at night? That helps me sleep.

What is that?

(Why does that do something?)

Where do I get that stuff? Is it natural?

What does it do....and why?

JVoV -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/23/2016 8:46:51 PM)

They still make the tv/DVD combos, but the DVD is sideways. And I'm not sure how large a tv they make with them.

For sleep, just take a benadryl.

Of course it's natural! It's an essential mineral that the vast majority of us are deficient in, since we used to get it from healthy food. Here's where I buy it:

http://shop.mercola.com/product/magnesium-l-threonate-120-per-bottle-30-day-supply,1191,420,0.htm

As to why or how it works, I don't know. But it does, and we need it whether we are insomniacs or not. Do you ever wake up with a leg cramp or charley horse? That's usually a clear sign of magnesium deficiency, or potassium deficiency. Correcting mineral imbalances for some reason does help sleep. We need a doctor in the house.

No....none of that....even with sleeping pills....it takes me 3 hours to drift.....I wake up intermittently....always "awake"...when....through hours of being awake....I discover (even hearing the TV the entire time....certain I was awake)....I did get 15 minutes....sometimes 2 hours....UP AND DOWN (mostly up) mostly drifting....in and out....but in 10 hours.....I get 4+....sometimes 7. (Rarely 7....MOSTLY 2 -5)

No leg cramps....no uncomfortableness....no charley horses.....

But if this will help me sleep more solidly.....I'll try it!

Lookin4Lace -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/24/2016 1:15:26 AM)

If your getting leg cramps.snd charlie horses then your.not.drinking.enough.water or your low.on.electrolites not because of.magnesium deffiecentcy, not enough water or.electrolites.make.the.muscels.contract

Greta75 -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/24/2016 3:49:22 AM)

I can always feel a charlie horse coming when I am dehydrated! It's really 100% about hydration.

No you don't - neither any pills to supply you with magnesium. Waste of money for chemical process waste.

Cashew nuts will do. Usually cheaper than pills, natural food, and often more effective, unless you are allergic to nuts of course.

Spiritedsub2 -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/24/2016 9:56:57 AM)

Magnesium capsules did work for me, beyond any placebo effect. You aren't quite the expert you think you are.

Spiritedsub2 -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/24/2016 10:01:02 AM)

And to Lookie, if you aren't tired from lack of sleep, maybe you're not insomniac at all, but just need less sleep. There was a recent article about people who need barely 4 hours of sleep a night, nothing wrong with them. So what will you do with all that extra life time?[:)]

Cell -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/24/2016 10:05:20 AM)

I haven't really read the thread but I just wanted to add that (while I'm not an expert either) mineral supplements have helped when I have had muscle cramps in the past. Try eating a Banana as well, see if that helps.

Have trouble falling asleep? Get a baby, you'll quickly discover you can fall asleep as soon as it is quiet.

Ohhh... Not that it will probably help you OP, but the best sleep I've ever had was after surgery when I was chock full of Morphine. Best. Sleep. Eva.

Yea well....sleep happens...

Wayward5oul -> RE: Fuuuuuuuuuck!!!!! (7/31/2016 4:04:03 PM)

Prescription sleeping pill plus 2 shots of zzquil does it for me, every night.

Sleeping pills on their own don't do it, neither does OTC stuff, so I feel your pain.

After my knee replacement surgery I had morphine, oxycodone pumping through my veins. Even though I felt stoned from the drugs the pain was so severe I stared at the ceiling all night. I guess the sleep inducing effect depends on how extensively the surgeon sliced (and sawed and hammered) you up.
