What are the first 10 or so things you would do in training a new sub? Or maybe the things you would do in the first 2 weeks of training?

Wouldn't it depend what you were training her to do? I mean the skills required for book keeper re very different from those required for cordon bleu chef.

Not everyone goes about training.
Fwiw, The Man's first thing was to teach me how he likes his tea.

One of the first things the Other Fella ordered me to do was to teach him how to iron his clothes properly.

You mean like her up and beating her "training"? Or actually teaching her something?

Obedience training. Teaching submissive positions, and the like.

Wouldn't this be on a case by case, negotiated, individual basis? Are you trying to get us to write you a how to?

I don't know why this OP bothers me so much, but it does.

Interesting. Obedience training for me was an understanding that a continuous lack of obedience would end the relationship. M (and I) never saw any merit in the "slave positions", even though there were several classes offered in the community. Honestly, I think it's easy to pose. I can act in any persona for scene/play session.

It's much harder to give up control over the non-kinky things. Where you walk, where you talk, letting someone else choose your meal, getting in the car without knowing where you're going, etc.

1. The rules and why each one exists.
2. What to do when you have to break the rules.
3. How to tell me when there's a problem/conflict.
4. What happens if we have a conflict.
5. How to behave in public with their new "status".
6. What to do if you get approached by others for play or consideration.
7. Important people in my life you might run into, and how to behave around them.
8. Protocol/rituals in everyday routine.
9. The list of my preferences and their order of priority.

And all that talky stuff I must do my homework on so you can serve me with some chance at success.

The first thing he taught me was how he likes his coffee. Then he showed me how to cook his eggs. I also learned how to use an RV toilet, how to dump the gray and black water tanks, and how to fill the fresh water tank. Basically my training was on how to live with him full time in an RV. Much later he taught me to play golf.

Yes, I am crazy about feathered creatures. I have a dozen chickens, 3 ducks, 5 geese, and 2 parakeets.

Revise that number. Just got 14 new chicks and 5 turkeys.

When I was in my D/S relationship.

I had a very thorough safety briefing. That my safety is paramount and most important! And that I must never fear to communicate if anything is causing me any harm that he is unaware about.

We had safety rehearsals.

I really liked my x-dom because he just want to make sure, I am super duper clear that my safety is his number 1 priority!

Then secondly, it's to understand his expectations of me. What are the protocols. What he expects from his sub.

Talk and negotiate what is doable or not doable. We had a 24/7 live in relationship, so there were protocols from the moment I come home. Or when we wake up in the morning, what are my duties. What happens weekends. There were regiments I had to follow.

And then everything else, is step by step, he keeps introducing new things. As time goes by.

This is a good working base.

Thank you. This times a million. I've learned through recent mistakes that if the other party wants to rush past communicating before playing or being intimate that's a huge red flag. I'm not going there again. Caused way too much heartache.

I admit, I was a bit torn, here.

However, if they don't already have this down, I would never accept them as a submissive. This is pretty much a given for interactions with me.

Communication is INCREDIBLY critical.

Time – it catches up with me, and I actually think this place is getting a wee bit busier (wonders why).

But in the sense that you mean it is effectively urban legend, propaganda, bad stereotypes in the worst case examples the predators use it as a form of credible reinforcement (behold my magnificence I am a conflagration of every bad bit of information out there – many enable this nonsense- many forum owners in particular – deranged half wits and propagators and defenders of nonsense on their best days of wretched woe) I view the fractured and damaged and many of the vulnerable no better – a symbiotic existence

It goes on to a small extent

But then I do not require an object or animal of wretch and yet I think I am still a minority on these places of that mindset – am I?

Why do you require a sub-human op and what would you like to train her in?

There are some benefits to living in Southern California.
