The invite thing was put in place to allow admin to deal with the scammers.
It worked, the Polish scammer is no more.

fetlife.com this one has the numbers but until they pull a leaf, many, out of the one aboves me website I will not - one of us forewarned what was happening on there and how they laughed at me - well never the genuine ones with a modicum of brain wattage

okcupid.com a barren waste land on its death throws..i stilllaugh at how much match paid for that site
fabswingers.com - yep recommend that one because it has had a verification system in place for the 10 years its been operational and perhaps the busiest/second busiest site in the UK

Understand that if you are a man things are bleak & hard on all sites more so this one than any other i have mentioned.

Anyone else care to add to the list - oh all right pof - everyone on every swing fet site is also on there

PS always support this site - granted it requires 90% of the women userbase removed on account of most of that being actual men in reality. Although over the epochs I am thoroughly disgusted at the lack of the owners input this place is now the worst it has ever been

or be 1 in the 1000 people who are on these places to attend a munch or club - look you will be made to feel welcome but they are not hookup joints- quite the opposite

hardly worth my time writing in this one for 10-20 unique views

Fet does have an awful lot of forums...but understand many of their creators did so for themselves and not the good of the community, or us plebs, and they are moderated with/by that ethos in the main.

I just wanted to say that I appreciated your comments on all of the different sites.

Not that anything you said really surprised me but in a perverse way it was good to read just so I know I'm not the only guy out there feeling these sites are getting worse and worse.

I think the old CollarMe was our best bet - well-known with a reasonably large user base that was mostly a personal ad site - but at some point it became more and more infested with scammers and the like and then FL came along as an alternative that many fled to (the problem with that being is FL is more of a local meet-up kind of thing than anything else). I've seen others recommend munches and various real-life gatherings but from my own personal experience (and in NYC, where one would think the odds would be better) in trying to connect with a domme in that way, I can't say that I had any real success.

I think this site was already on its way downhill but the death knell was a few years ago when there was some kind of internal conflict (and subsequent name change) and after that, even simple things like having a keyword search that actually works have fallen by the wayside. From the male sub/slave perspective, this site must be 90% "findommes" now. I still find myself here looking at profiles even realizing it's self-defeating but am eventually going to have to force myself to close my profile and get off the site entirely (as it is now, I only unhide my profile on those rare instances I contact someone).

I think the best days of online in general were the early days - people were less jaded and less already-matched-up - not only do we not have that anymore but there are more sites and more diffusion when one good concentrated site would be the best (in my opinion, anyway). To tell the truth, I think the chances of meeting someone were even better before the flourishing of the internet, as compared to this exact moment in time...

I see what you're saying.

What happens, though, it pretty much common. Right now, we have one major social site for kinky folk—FetLife.

CS, Alt, Bondage, and so on have been battling it out for the dating part of that market for a long time, without any significant updates to the way they do business or the technology they use.

Nor, do the owners really seem to care anymore.

There are others starting up. Most, it seems use the same premise as the older sites that have been failing us, and are therefore, not garnering enough interest to keep themselves alive.

Dating Kinky is looking at matching from both a vanilla-compatibility standpoint and putting in new ways to connect that other sites have not used/considered. It's new. Not a lot of people there yet. But it's growing fast, which is good.

The foundation is awesome.

Time will tell on the rest.

If you're able to get out and meet people I would do that rather then using a computer to do it. Though I guess there's always fetlife....

Many of the people I know online do both.

Hell, I've run kinky events, hosted at my home for years. I've owned a kinky venue. I STILL use the computer to connect with kinky people locally and when I travel.

To me, the best is whatever combination actually WORKS for the individual.

Only ~1/1000 (you can argue me down to 1/500 on a splendid day) people on these sites, mainstream dating/friend sites, every attend a munch or club in their lifetime.

Note munches and clubs can actually seem daunting. But they are the complete opposite. Newbies simple mail one of the organizers and when you turn up let them know twere you who emailed then up they will sit you with a nice group of people who will not eat you, or enslave you, sell you for cake money. In essence that 1/1000 will meet more people in that one visit than they will do on a site x rest f their life, well unless you are women

Now some waffle or tall tales that also happen to be true:
Scotland typically only ever had two munches Edinburgh & Glasgow one.....they may sporadically 1-2 times a year have others/other locations…ateendace for 5 million pop is always low to non existent. I live ~ equi distance from these two cities and I couldn’t be bothered travelling save the once.

Clubs different story. I was dragged to my first by a couple…..in essence they said we are coming to pick you in 30 minutes – they were wonderful couple…..after that I tended to car share – not unusual.

Sites…hmm nookie *smiles nevertheless

I've found that in many cases the same people frequent nearly all the same social media fetish type sites. So, its just a matter of vetting anywhere you go.

I like Fetlife ... it has some drawbacks, but most of the 'Real" people I know have moved from here to there. Their search feature isn't as good, but the site is active and almost never down.
