I dunno the complaints about cycles can be legit with most women. I use to hear from my mom.. the more active you are.. the less cramps. Can't prove that by most gals I know who are very active. Even my girls. As for myself. I lucked out. Never bloated enough to know. Never got moody. No cramps. No PMS at all. And still don't. But as far as the OP and it interfering .......ummm no not really. Because I just simply tell any dom... when on my period... I do not play at all. My body is cleaning itself... regrouping...and will be left alone. But that doesn't mean I can't submit to him in other ways. Specially when my submission isn't based strictly on sex.

Just how things are and work for me.

I totally agree. Men cannot experience it, even though they joke about it. Its the one thing we do besides childbirth that makes us female. Though on the otherhand I have been on seasonale for a year now and its great. I was started on it for menstrual induced migraines and it has been wonderful in that aspect. There have been times of breakthrough bleeding but that stops after a year. The menstrual cycle is not a "curse" its a part of life.

impishlilhellcat -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 3:24:18 PM)

I have a weird body and weird hormones. But I tend to be pretty lucky because I'm odd and nothing this far in life has regulated my cycle but I usually have a period a short 3 day cycle every other month. I've been checked all those hormones make things worse for me like headaches and stuff and there's nothing wrong with me so the Doc's just let my cycle be itself. but when i do get ready to have a cycle I am crazy well kinda. I cry at anything, I'm cranky, tired, and just generally grumpy.

*Fast reply*

I'm on Diane 35 to regulate my periods and control heavy bleeding and cramping. I can tweak my cycle if I want if we have something coming up like a play date or party which is very handy![:)] My periods are fairly light on this regimen - regular tampons for the first couple of days, minis and panty liners for the rest - about 5 days in total.

I get minor cramping a few hours before and after it starts, sometimes a headache which "drills" into one or other side of my forehead, sleepiness and a minor craving for sweets/chocolate. Master and I tend not to play during this time (but it doesn't stop Him wanting blowjobs whenever [:D]) He will gently rub my belly and cuddle me close - bliss[:)] If I'm sleepy He will send me for a nanna nap which usually helps with the headache too.

My mother had a terrible time with her periods, she had endometriosis and eventually had to have a total hysterectomy. I am lucky I escaped that part but as soon as perimenopause started 3 years ago I was skipping cycles and then having 10 day floods and cramps and backache [:'(] I'd rather keep taking the pill - I don't smoke, my blood pressure is fine and I've never had any problem with hormonal contraception.

Okay. I am definitely going to ask my doctor about trying Seasonale. Thanks for the information, folks!  [:)]

I get moody, needy, tempermental---overly emotional in general! The cramps are painful...and at times, I have to lie on my back and prop my feet up! I feel like I'm eating Midol to survive..(lol). While all these hormones are raging...I  feel bi-polar because while I am pissed off and moody, I'm thinking, "I just want to have sex and it will cure it all"[:D]

Orgasms are supposed to be good for cramps.  The problem is when you have a bad cramps, the last thing you want is sex, even if it's at your own hand for relief.     [8D]

Hi Katy!
Perhaps we can convince modern science to make "Orgasm in a Bottle?" [;)]

juliaoceania -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 6:27:20 PM)

I am in the first stages of perimenopause, and sometimes I cycle twice in a month, although that did straighten out for the most part. I do have PMS and I think it does impact how I feel about the world around me. I find that admitting this makes it easier for me to deal with, because if I am having negative emotions I will stop myself and ask myself "Is this real? Or is this hormonal?" If it is possible that hormones are responsible for my annoyance, anger, sadness .. well then I tell myself to not over react to things. I will tell my Dominant when I have pms, this is not because I think this gives me an excuse to act up, but if I am perceiving things incorrectly I want him to know why that could be. So far this has worked for us

Wish that worked for me; an orgasm just makes my cramps worse.

[sm=dance.gif] Julia....it's not the PMS..it's just you <weg>

missturbation -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 6:29:30 PM)

About ten years ago i had a coil fitted which completely stopped my periods. It also stopped pms. I havent had anything in ten years and i love it. The coil is a mirena if anyone fancies trying one.

KatyLied -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 6:29:47 PM)

Perimenopause is hell, truly.  All of the pms plus weird periods.

gardenbluebird -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 6:51:57 PM)

As i progress through my 30s i am finding that i am more affected by my cycles than i used to be.  The week before i get moody, horny and acne.  It's a weird "i feel ugly, don't like people, and really really need sex" combination.  i am now trying soy suppliments and after a month on the suppliment my mood was much improved last cycle.

irishbynature -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 6:55:25 PM)

Katy...so right... Perimenopause is hell. It's like waiting for the big menopause to come so you can start having less estrogen, more mood swings, and hot flashes! I say, "Bring on menapause NOW and be done!

SusanofO -> RE: Menstrual cycle…. (7/26/2006 7:08:55 PM)

I agree. Perimenopause (to me) is like God being a Sadistic teaser. If he/she/it wants me to do it, I will beg for my periods to be over for good.[:D][;)]

Smile....I had a hysterectomy quite a few years ago..but I do so remember the agonies of it...now when I go down that certain aisle of the store I just get this huge grin as I pass on by...BTW..after my hysterectomy I had no bad side effects as we as women have heard of..of course I did retain one ovary so as not to have to take supplements.....Tempting

Dear LaTigresse, Ladies and Gentlemen;

It seems our bodies have a bad sense of humor.  Have you noticed, the very day you want to wear white, wear something sexy siren come clutch me and fondle my mums like, the dreaded red curse comes.  I tell ya--its a plot!  Gives a new meaning to the "red sea...err c...."

Submitted with a lot of wit,
Lady Hugs

Good to know, Tempting.
