Hells bells another true story from the age of 20-32 I was with someone and we were married the last 3-6 years of that, fuked if I can remember exactly how long we were married, and that ended 13 years ago (FFS 47 work it out) in a amicable divorce – Lucky I know

Do you know what I remember about that tamaka an imperceptible decline..and yet there was over a decade of my patience versus the mad witch bints - valid as I do not like selfish beings - my perspective of course. Would you care to share an example or anyone else?

Well for me, i had been hurt pretty bad by someone so i am not as easily trusting as i used to be. So it takes a while for me to 'warm up' to people now. Also, certain skills i didn't have (ie deep throating) take a while to develop so if Master had wanted a great bj the first time, he would have been very disappointed. It takes patience for a good Master to help their sub/slave to 'become' what they want them to be and to master the skills that they want their sub/slave to have. You need to have patience to continue to teach and train in an encouraging way.

Don't call yourself a Master until you've actually mastered something. Whether it be rope, whips, obedience training, or whatever, put real blood, sweat and tears into learning a kinky craft that people can appreciate, respect, and above all trust. Work equally hard on personality: compassion, awareness (including self), humor, dignity, confidence, strength. Learn to block out easily invited negative emotions such as anger, bitterness, coldness, and self-pity.
In a nutshell, be a good self-reliant person with mad kink skillz and you will earn your Master's badge in no time.

There are all kinds of Masters and all kinds of subs and slaves. But what makes the Master good or bad? Tough one, but I'd say these characteristics are common to the good Masters I have known:

* Reliable / Consistent
* Respects your limits (!!!)
* Secure
* Confident
* Mature
* Inspires trust

For me, a Good Master is someone who can control me and make me feel happy going along whatever he wants. And his mental maturity need to really feel older than me. It doesn't matter if this guy is 60 or 20. Mental maturity usually doesn't correspond with actual age.

I see this traits in good leaders. Have you ever met someone who you just want to support and go along with him? Because you just have so much respect for his judgement and fairness as a person and you can trust him and his integrity.

I think it boils down alot to temperament and self-control too. Alot of self-proclaim Masters can't even control their own out of wack emotions and temper. That is not gonna inspire anything when I feel I have better control of myself than the "Master" did of himself. How can you trust someone who have no control of himself to take care of your safety?

I need to look up to someone. Not be his mother and take him in rein ya know, dealing with his tantrums.

I agree with ExileTyrant on one thing. Every sub needs a different type of Master who could control her, and suit her. So, a good Master is a Master who is successful in convincing a woman to serve him the way he wants her to and she feels happy doing it. I mean it is necessary she is content doing it or else she wouldn't stick around for long. So that's not an easy task. And that's what makes a good Master if he has succeeded in all that.

It's quite interesting in the context of BDSM, because mutual consent is required. So the Master wants things a certain way, he needs to figure out how to make a modern woman want things his way. This part is the difficult part, that's why ya got many self proclaim masters complaining there are no real subs around.

In real slavery, he just do everything non-consensually, no need to convince anybody. No skills needed really. Just be born at the time and period where they are in power and it's not against the law to take non-consensual slaves.
