Well then, you could always just do what I do, and simply hang out in the real world with people you meet in the real world, but I was trying to accommodate the derps who do the whole internet dating thing.
At any rate, I don't happen to give a fuck about this glitch, and the people who do worry about it, well they have only themselves to blame for giving out whatever info they gave out to somebody stupid enough to store that info that way.

Technically, it's illegal in the US. According to the law you cannot consent to assault. Therefore BDSM is technically illegal and hosting a gathering to further assault is illegal. Law enforcement here frequently looks the other way, it's still technically illegal.

Although, it's not really a "bad habit", because the notes section states "Notes visible only to you", therefore most people using a site would initially trust that what they write there is secure and private.

Nowadays with so much data being breached it is certainly beneficial to be paranoid.

An alternative to Notes is to use a program like Excel (or one of the free program apps that are equivalent) where you can make name lists and summarize fetishes, contact info, conversation notes, etc., especially when talking to many people as some of us do.

I stopped having anything to do with the "scene" nearly 20 years ago, and I have never had any difficulty. And oddly enough, people managed it just fine for thousands of years before the Internet existed, so I call bullshit.

I think it's more about, who wants to stick their neck out and hold a munch? It starts with announcing to the world, you're into BDSM.

I don't think it's illegal as long as it is held privately. Someone could host in their home.

BDSM Club might have alot of laws to deal with. I mean, can you imagine bar top dancing is illegal. I can't even imagine what hoops one gotta jump through just to get a BDSM Club approved.
