However big a fuck up of the hostage mess he made (and that was, if we're honest, as much the CIA making a point of fucking him up as incompetence on Carter's part), he certainly wasn't anything like the catastrophe he gets painted as, and if anybody can name anything an American president has done in the middle east that has proven more beneficial than the Camp David accord syrup boy is mocking since then, I haven't heard about it.

Maybe this is at least some good news even though we all know that there are what's called back channel dealings all of the time. Yes, every president that's tried, has failed but Carter did get a treaty and one that has lasted between Egypt and Israel. Neither side has ever stuck to their side of any agreement so far. Maybe, just maybe, this meeting and having become so public, will ease the way for more meetings and that has to be a good thing. The reason is because no 3rd party (even the US) can broker peace, only the principals themselves can do it. Religion is a very powerful poison. But no, just as with Obama, at least as the right (repubs) will tell you, every single thing that goes down that might even be construed as positive, will be despite Trump the P.T. Barnum of our times.
