ORIGINAL: Lucylastic How about someone comes up with figures and facts about how many women have "late term abortions" and why. Not merely anecdotes, misconceptions and outright bullshit??? Anecdote? Where? Misconception? Where? Outright bullshit? Where? quote:
Roe vs wade places is viability at 22-24 weeks As technology improves, that figure will drop. Banning abortion at six weeks like some dicks tried, is not going to stop ANY late term abortion It wont change the realities that a miniscule number of women have LTA for any reason other than fetal anomalies or the health of the mother. I'm not sure why you're focusing on LTA's. Not even sure why you decided to respond to me with a response that has nothing to do with what I wrote, either. I accept your assertion that RvW does place viability at 22-24 weeks, but that doesn't mean squat, to be honest. Will RvW change that when, as you've also asserted, technological improvements will change that timeframe? Does RvW decide when a fetus is a human person who has inalienable rights? I agree that banning abortions after 6 weeks won't impact the number of LTA's. I believe abortions to be wrong, and I would have a huge problem if a woman decided to abort a baby that she and I made together. To that end, I've been snipped, so the risk of that problem arising is, effectively, zero. I've already stated I can't even imagine the mental anguish a woman (or her man, if he's involved) would go through to have to choose between her baby or her own life (the LTA thing you're on about).
