People are voting with their money, and it has nothing to do with the NFL. The founder of Little Cesar's paid Rosa Park's rent for an apartment in a safe neighborhood in Detroit for decades, after the one she was living in was robbed. He past away recently. So if you're making a socially conscious decision about your pizza order, I think the choice is obvious.

Im not a pizza expert. But i do like ph meatlovers occasionally. I do wonder if pappa johns customers, and workers will get that finacial loss passed down.

But we've had two new pizza joints open in our area that are much better. I haven't ordered from Papa John's in a couple years.

Obviously, it's a political issue, with Papa John's being right-leaning. Lefty Annheuser-Busch blamed a drop of 1.5% volume in Q3 on weather in parts of the country. (Revenues were still up)

Intrigue, I like it. But I'm sure Hurricanes Harvey and Irma had absolutely nothing to do with any loss of revenue for his 100+ restaurants.

I cancelled my subscription to the "Sunday Ticket" and I know quite a few others who have, also. I also keep up with groups that are organizing "protests" against the NFL. Peace, Michael that's one of the ways the Olympic movement, or at least the IOC, was able to go from running in the red to being in the black---they sold the logo and the title "official sponsor." and yes, same thing with this---if you tried to appropriate the name somehow without official approval, youd get in trouble. I think its an issue, and an interesting one, but I believe I mentioned before, I think more than anything its likely to fizzle away.

an interesting question about the hurricanes and one wonders how those stores contributed to the overall declination. im sure that information's known at the corporate level, but im skeptical its significant. in the grand scheme of time, the hurricanes are relatively brief in duration, and people's lives go back to normal pretty quickly.

Regarding the "Super Bowl", the NFL copyrighted the words (Not just "trademarked the logo") much like that basketball coach whose team won their second championship and he went the next day and copyrighted "Threepeat" (or some homonym thereof). It's why you see bar marquees with: "Come watch 'The Big Game' with us" and " 'Big Game' buffet at half time", etc. Michael

I think the devastation that came one-right-after-the-other certainly explains some of the losses, but numbers don't lie and NFL viewership is down something like 2M per week? Add to that the organized boycotts and letter writing and email campaigns and I think the NFL will show a down-turn in profits for sure, until they make the decision to be owners and not just baby sitters.
