Butch, they use the cheapest recipe possible. What costs them money is having the pizza premade and it sitting on the shelf to get thrown in the trash. But it isn't that much. Used tto be you could get a decent pizza by ordering extra everything, but now I want nothing on it.

I am going to start making it again. I can't find a decent pizza in this town. There was Nunzios that has only three locations. Lately they have gotten too greasy, and if I say that, it is GREASY .

greta, people who say nonsense like "their pizza is shit" shouldn't be taken seriously.

papa john's is a national and international chain that has experienced a reputable amount of success. you don't get that by selling "shit."

all national franchise pizzas share similar characteristics with relatively minor differences in recipe.

so whats the more likely, either millions of people over and over are buying "shit" or the people who declare it so are really full of it?

bounty44 -> RE: Papa John's Loses Dough (11/4/2017 11:16:05 AM)

to take butch's point in another direction. its probably, or at least quite possibly less likely that people are purposefully withholding business from papa john's as opposed to just not seeing the advertisements because they are not watching the games anymore.

Maybe their sales are down because his pizza is shit? Even Pizza Hut is better than the crap they sell.

Yeah, this "my business is down because of the NFL" is nonsense. People are still eating pizza. Just not his.

Anyone at all good at business knows to continually reinvent the business. Hello.

Why is it nonsense for some people to not enjoy the taste of Papa John's pizza and express that opinion? That has to be honestly one of the most ridiculous thoughts you've spouted, Bounty. You love Johnny's pizza and it annoys the shit out of you that not everyone rlse shares that love? Who gave you the idea we all had to like the same thing or risk not being taken seriously [8|]

I honestly dont give a shit about John's political leanings or the NFL either. I just dont happen to enjoy eating doughy tasteless pizza. Period. End. Of. Story.

That's been an article of faith for the republicans since the '80s, sadly: anybody who disagrees with them on anything (however trivial or insignificant) is either too stupid to understand that they're wrong, or anti-American, remember?

Only in America Pizzagate

I like when the [Word Removed] bend the knee and president draft dodging bone spurs takes a mental turn on his shitter feed and insults as many Gold Star widows (and parents) as he can find. There exists only two sports more shitter than American football:
1. Baseball
2. Cricket

Game of Thrones 6x10 - The King in the North!

bounty44 -> RE: Papa John's Loses Dough (11/4/2017 11:59:48 AM)

apart from my contention that all national franchise pizza is more or less good, which pretty much makes most complainers "food snobs"...

its not a matter of "not being taken seriously because you all don't like the same thing" its a matter of not being taken seriously when youre not a culinary expert in general, or a pizza expert in particular and you (generic you) describe things with hyperbole and vulgarities.

if you want to say something like "I find it too doughy, somewhat bland and I don't like it", then that's a serious critique---although id reference you back to the food snob contention.

but when one uses language like "shit, cardboard, crap, revolting" etc., then yes, you shouldn't be taken seriously.

"Uh Oh: An Official NFL Sponsor Considers Nixing Business Partnership Due To Dismal Ratings"

quote:

The national anthem fiasco that’s engulfed the National Football League has its official pizza sponsor deciding whether to pull the plug on the partnership due to declining ratings. Papa John’s said it’s re-evaluating its business relationship with the NFL, while founder and CEO John Schnatter voiced his frustration over the league’s inability to fully deal with the situation concerning the protests (via WSJ):

quote:

Papa John’s International Inc. is evaluating its National Football League sponsorship in the wake of declining television football viewership, which the company has blamed in part on the national anthem protests that have roiled the league this season.

Top executives at the pizza chain said they are in weekly discussions with the NFL about the returns their advertising dollars are generating and that they will see how the rest of the football season plays out before making any big decisions. But they say consumers’ shift to digital channels is leading them to completely rethink the way they advertise.

“We have to evaluate our reliance on partnerships that are TV-focused, like the NFL,” Papa John’s Chief Marketing Officer Brandon Rhoten said in an interview on Friday, two days after the company reported that falling TV viewership of NFL games hurt the company’s third-quarter sales.

Total NFL ratings through the first seven weeks of the season declined by 5% compared with last year and by about 15% versus the same stretch in 2015, which was a strong season for the league.

The NFL has twisted itself into pretzels over this anthem issue, saying they think everyone should stand for the Star-Spangled Banner, but stopped short of declaring that this would become an enforced rule. In the third week of the season, ticket sales plummeted nearly 20 percent, while NFL ratings overall are down almost 10 percent over a six-week period. Since 2013, the league’s approval rating has dropped 18 percent. Once a reprieve in our daily lives, the NFL has now become one of the most divisive brands in the country.

This was entirely avoidable. Colin Kaepernick, who fired the first salvo last year, sat and then took a knee during the national anthem. This year, scores of players joined once President Trump slammed their antics at a rally in Alabama last September. Many thought the tide was on the side of the league, which rushed to the players’ side, but everyone else thought it was nothing more that disrespecting the flag, our veterans, and those who continue to serve in uniform. Whatever issue these players were trying to shed light on was relegated to the trash bin. No one cares about your cause when you spit, or you're perceived to be spitting, on the American flag. The NFL lost this war—big league. Whether the protests have actually impacted pizza sales for Papa John’s remains to be seen; they’re holding out on making a final decision until the end of this season. This is part of an overall marketing overhaul by the pizza giant.

Oh no. If fast food pizza goes, how will America survive?

Or televised football, for that matter.

ServiceSubinCali -> RE: Papa John's Loses Dough (11/4/2017 12:46:57 PM)

Pizzagate? Imagine the colluding poverty required to have made that an occurrence.

"Pizzagate" was some wanker shooting up a pizza restaurant because some other wanker had said was a front for the pedophile ring Hilary Clinton ran for the zionist conspiracy, remember?
