I don't know about that one. Maybe you should ask the people he was stealing from if it mattered. Unlike you, I'm not grading on the curve. I'm not looking to see if other people's infractions are worse to excuse this guy for going out and stealing from other people to keep landing himself in jail when he KNEW his son needed him. I'm rather convinced that most people know that if they break the law, and go to jail, yes, one of the things that does is separate the person from their family. I'd have been happier if the guy would have straightened his act out so the hospital wouldn't have had to wonder if he was going to be able to do his part as a living donor. His track record isn't exactly great, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that the hospital had concerns about post procedure regimen.

Had the guy been able to be a living donor, the kidney AJ received could have gone to another child who didn't have the option of a match of a relative. I'd have rather two children not have to be on dialysis. I'd have rather had the better odds for AJ with the 100% match, which would decrease the possibility of rejection of the transplanted organ.

I know it sounds strange but I'm thinking that might have been kind of cool.

Status: offline 		I understand your point about the father knowing beforehand what the situation was, and so should have constrained himself for at least that long.

My two homeless neighbors are homeless primarily because they have incurable "impulse control issues," so I am familiar with the problem.

But the inescapable fact is that the STATE prevented the procedure from taking place as it should have. It is by arbitrary rules that had the father's actions preventing what should have happened. He could have been awarded a million dollars or he could have been street executed, but either way, the STATE decides that, not the father. So let's just stop with that nonsense

BTW, sorry you missed it, but the doctors said they wouldn't allow donation from the father because the prison medical system sucked so bad (which the doctors were fully aware of) that they felt certain that the father would have died afterwards. Whereas it's not much of a deal in the outer world for a donor. So there's that.

But as an adult, I appreciate the ban so much. No chewing gum left on public transport seats for example. Just makes the whole country cleaner! (PS, chewing gum is outlawed in the entire country, not just the subway)

I think America sold themselves very well on TV to be this beautiful pristine country to the world, makes people from the third world think it's the holy grail to stay in. But in reality. It's not like that.

The only issue I have with US immigration is, that they gave asylum to a spoiled rich kid running away from national service in Singapore. And now that spoil rich kid got banned from facebook and twitter and initially suppose to talk at harvard but harvard cancelled him, because he is promoting pedophilia and child porn. His a stupid kid and yet US gave him asylum. I am sure there more genuine poverty ridden asylum seekers they could have helped instead. His pro-bono US lawyer painted a false picture that he was being persecuted, when really, every boy who reach 18 in Singapore gotta serve National Service. It's like Israel, every citizen gotta serve.

Talk about choosing quality immigrants. Trump needs to sort out their immigration department as even choosing who to give legal immigration to, they are fucking up!

And all this dude did was enter US on a tourist visa and then apply for asylum. And he believes US is the glorious land of free speech, so he can be as outrageous as he wants, like campaigning for children to be allowed to do child porn legally. And making it legal for adults to have sex with children.

I am surprise it's illegal to drive in night gown. As a kid, there were many times I miss my school bus. And my mom got to rush out of bed and drive me to school. And she doesn't bother to change. Just in her nightgown, drop me off, go back home and continue sleeping. Because this is like 5am in the morning.

Status: offline 		The point was that we (in any country) can label someone as a "criminal" for almost any reason.

Argue whatever else you wan't about the detriments of the person under scrutiny, but the "he's/she's a criminal" thing is useless. Name the crime, don't just say "criminal" and then be lazy about the rest of it.
