Bosco, if you want to have a discussion about a Democrat in the House, just make another thread. That way, it doesn't get lost. Because it is a separate issue completely. This thread is about Santos. If you have no defense of his admitted lies, then don't defend him. But don't distract from the fact that he is a liar.

So instead of answering questions about a disgraced Republican, McCarthy spoke about a Democrat. Yup. Thats deflection. He could have spoken on both issues. And he should have. He could have even said that Santos had issues, but he is more concerned about someone on the Intelligence Committee. Instead, he chose to waste his time chastising the media for asking about Santos. That seems like a wasted opportunity, as the Santos story is still a thing.

McCarthy needs to do better controlling the narrative.

McCarthy had the attention of the world, and he blew it. And you know how to make threads. So do it. Make a thread about Biden's supposed lies. Stop trying to derail this thread. Which is about Santos admitting to being a liar. Not just a partisan talking point. He fully admitted to the lies he has been caught in. This isn't just a political viewpoint that can be explained away by rhetoric of any sort. No judgment needs to be made by anyone about his guilt or innocence. He fully confessed. It doesn't make a difference to me what party Santos is. No political attack is being made.

This thread should have been short, as there was nothing to argue. "What about" isn't a defense. It's nonsense. Biden isn't part of the story, just Santos.

It would be easy to fudge a resume when sp many businesses have shut down with the pandemic. I could say I had a Bachelor's,s of Baconology from Trump University and that I was the Junior Baconologist at Enron and who could argue either? Both have shut down due to bankruptcy, not pandemic related.

Many job-seekers lie on resumes and applications. A lot of them don't get caught. Or don't get caught until it's too late. People lie about graduating high school. A college degree is something that usually gets found out fast enough, but that could be lied about as well. People lie about military service, prior jobs, felony records... If there is a question to answer, someone has likely lied about it. Yes, even their name. College applications, as well.

The Republicans KNEW he was a liar and supported his candidacy ANYWAY, in their thirst for power.

So this dude said his mom was a 9/11 survivor, actually in the Twin Towers during the attack. But immigration says she was in Brazil at the time. And there was something about not giving charity money for a dog or something. Idk I heard it on the news.

Santos shouldn't be on any Committees. McCarthy should not appoint him to any. That has absolutely nothing to do with Stalwell and Schiff. It's an entirely separate issue. But Santos would be the obvious scapegoat to show that McCarthy isn't playing politics. Even though he is.

But yeah Santos shouldn't be on any committees.

I had to look on Page 2 for this thread. For just so few of us, we have a lot to talk about. Which is good of course. But back to the thread:

George Santos has now agreed to temporarily step away from his Congressional Committee assignments, until all this hoo-ha about his campaign finances blows over. Oh, his treasurer quit. Probably the campaign treasurer. Cuz they don't want no part of that mess. That dude is just too damn much.

So, the FBI is investigating Santos now. Apparently aside from the campaign funds, there's something about some other money. Idk, I didn't hear it all.
