JVoV -> RE: Where Did Our Glorious Wonderful Global Warming Go (5/16/2023 2:05:50 AM)

Ok, the reason is cuz I damn well want to, and that's all that matters, so I'll keep posting.

MJ, have you been involved in discussions amongst climatologists? How can we possibly track climate change without observing changes in weather. How could it be known that a year has a higher avg temp than others, without tracking the actual temps?

Weather is a matter of temperature, humidity, precipitation, air pressure, wind speed, and wind direction, according to NOAA. climate.gov says "Climate is determined by the long-term pattern of temperature and precipitation averages and extremes at a location."

So an untrained eye wouldn't recognize the difference between weather and climate. A single weather event is not a sign of climate change, but it still gets recorded.

And there are some places where monitoring the weather is very important, as we deal with how the climate has already changed. Droughts in the SouthWest US mean less water for people downriver. Less fish there too, along with less ground moisture, and drier conditions as a whole. Water management is important, and it can have an impact on climate change for that area, at least.

Snow in one place and heat in another says nothing. Snow in DC in June may be something, or snow in Miami (even in January). Wouldn't those just be obvious enough for you to care about?

Unseasonable heat in Orlando in April is something to pay attention to, as we have this thing called the Atlantic Ocean not quite far from us. That's where hurricanes happen, for anyone paying attention. Warmer land around them generally means warmer oceans too. The SoBe water temp is 81°F today, May 16, 2023. Hurricane Katrina hit, the Gulf of Mexico was 82°F and higher, in some pockets. So it may be worth paying attention to a few weather reports now and then. The Atlantic was roughly 5°F higher temp than average when Sandy came around.

Climate change will impact certain areas first, and those of us in the effected areas (that admit climate change is real) know what to watch for.

My point is none of us know which weather events or group of weather events are significant as to their climate impact, and which aren't.

So the thread had devolved into posting weather report's.

CBS segment highlights how adding bugs to the food system 'could be a game-changer' to fight climate change

Climate change activists have promoted eating insects as a solution to a greener environment

I am sure a lot of things would help to slow climate change. That doesn't mean they are the right thing to do.

You should actually make your point with your posts, instead of backpedaling and making bullshit excuses later on.

"The thread devolved"... Um... It's one of Bosco's threads. It was shit from the start. Wanna try again?

Okay, just for you two simpletons - The Global warming scam: Ran by elitist multibillionairs and their bought scientists and politicians, primarily benefiting literal Chinese slave owners

So woke

Well, if you want to eat bugs, you are quite welcome to do so.

I choose my own diet, but you are welcome to listen to your masters and snack on bugs.

If "woke" means not being completely oblivious to the obvious then I hope to be more woke everyvday.

Sure, Soros could buy scientists to say stuff. But even if he converted all of his money into nickels and dumped them in the Atlantic Ocean, I seriously doubt that it would put Miami streets under a foot of water, with no hurricane to blame.

Sure, you would expect storm damage and flooding after one of those, especially if the ground was already saturated from normal rainfalls.

It probably wouldn't hurt you to watch one of the Al Gore movies. Get some knowledge. Or maybe you can actually make sense of this demonic plot for me. Cuz it seems totally real.

JVoV -> RE: Where Did Our Glorious Wonderful Global Warming Go (5/17/2023 12:59:10 AM)

I'm not eating bugs knowingly. I'd suck on Fear Factor. I'm ok with that.

There does seem to be a push against cattle farming though. I can grow a garden, like I normally do, to supplement my dietary needs. I actually like beans & rice, as long as it's properly seasoned. That doesn't mean I wanna give up real butter or bacon though.

Global warming set to break key 1.5C limit for first time

So any scientist who observes the planet warming is bought and paid for by elite multibillionaires.

Anyone who doesn't embrace and fully buy into this statement is a simpleton.

I think other cults call non-believers, "apostates", yours calls us simpletons.

Sorry, my bad - I've forgotten how slow you two dullards are

No one denies the fact that ever since the Earth formed as a planet, the climate has constantly changed

And I certainly don't deny that the UN wants you as an American to eat worms and to surrender everything you hold dear

BoscoX -> RE: Where Did Our Glorious Wonderful Global Warming Go (5/17/2023 7:39:12 AM)

The UN is like the bar scene in Star wars, and they're always doing things like having North Korea chair the Human Rights council

Not that specifically, but things of the sort.

Where is your beloved GOD the UN on Ukraine. Why would anyone pay any attention to that festering garbage heap

Not sure you realize that you are replying to yourself. So you are howling to yourself about the UN?

Enjoy!

Your increasingly desperate need to lash out blindly tells us what we already know - yours is an extremely weak hand at best.

"lash out blindly"????? ROFL LMAO

I was amused at your self-anger about the UN. I am just sitting and watching and being entertained.

Not even remotely close to lashing out at anyone.

You are really desperate now.

JVoV -> RE: Where Did Our Glorious Wonderful Global Warming Go (5/18/2023 12:40:15 AM)

The UN is weakened, quite purposefully, by having Russia and China on the Security Council. And both have veto power. Russia isn't going to allow the UN to intervene. Putin isn't going to let a small thing like human rights get in his way. But China has been there since 1945, and Russia took the Soviet Union's spot, cuz same thing I guess?

The success of any group or organization depends on the leaders of it to not be fucktards. So many across the world have a negative opinion of the US too, and a lot of that is completely undeserved. But we aren't evil. Usually. We could be though, considering we are the strongest nation on the planet, and constantly push to be better.

But if you had anything more than what you're told to be pissed off about, you'd know this. But continue drooling in your Jello, as your masters use your rage based on simply turning off your brain.

BoscoX -> RE: Where Did Our Glorious Wonderful Global Warming Go (5/18/2023 6:38:26 AM)

Heading into elections, "Democrats" <spit> solemnly swear on piles of shit that they are doing NOTHING to destroy the poor by deliberately pricing energy, plastics, and other petroleum products and everything dependent on them, out of reach of the poor

But that's just one more lie.

EXAMPLE: Myriad endless lawsuits against energy providers. The following case in point is particularly egregious -

quote:

Top State Judge Handling Climate Lawsuit Worked With Environmental Group Tied To Plaintiffs' Lawyers

The Chief Justice of Hawaii’s Supreme Court, who is hearing Honolulu’s lawsuit against oil and gas companies for climate damages, has worked with a D.C-based environmental group that has close ties to the plaintiff’s attorneys.

Honolulu’s lawsuit against Sunoco, Shell, Chevron and other companies is one of many lawsuits cities have filed against energy companies in an effort to extract alleged damages for the firms’ contributions to climate change; the Supreme Court declined to hear these lawsuits in April, pushing them back to state courts—meaning Honolulu’s case is now squarely before Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald. However, on May 9, Recktenwald disclosed that he engages in “educational presentations relating to environmental, energy, and natural resource issues” and has worked with the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), a group which routinely collaborates with environmental activists.

(More at linked site)

Of course China Joe's sugar daddies in the Chinese Communist Party access all of the petroleum products they need. They're building massive coal fired power plants as fast as they can... It's only you and me who are being kneecapped

The cleanest manufacturing processes on the planet are being deliberately ripped asunder in favor of manufacturing powered by Chinese dirty coal

All according to plan

Yeah, MJ. It's obvious that Bosco is still reeling from the verdict in EJ Carroll's favor. Geez. And the whole documents thing is still being investigated. Not looking good for Trump on that front either.

I wonder if the FBI would actually arrest Trump during the presidential debate. And if the moderator would giggle. Honestly, I wonder how many viewed the CNN townhall just waiting for something like that?
