1) Alan Partridge
2) Til Death Us Do Part (I know this translated over to America but I can't remember what it was called there - he was Alf Garnett here and Archie Bunker there I think)
3) The Gong Show (if anyone knows where I can get these online or on DVD please message me on CollarMe)
4) Monty Python
5) Big Brother (I know, I know.....)

Til Death Do Us Part was All in the Family here, ED.

Says you.  But you do know what they say about opinions, yes?

OK, I need to add to my list:

Monster House
Faulty Towers
So You Think You Can Dance
The Fairly Oddparents
The Monkees

And last, but by no means ever least:  American Bandstand

Some of the funniest radio I've ever heard is comedian Craig Shoemaker doing his spot-on impersonations of the whole Mayberry gang using pot LOL.

Yes, but.. Alice always had the upper hand and Ralph looked like a fool.  I consider Alice the original "Domme" of network tv..lol

Floyd the barber? Wonderful man, I agree. I've heard stories of how he would make Andy laugh so hard they would have to do take after take.

PS- Ah, I think you meant Stern and someone else doing a riff on Floyd and Opie ..... geeeeez, I can only imagine what Floyd was doing to him lol.....

Rock Star: Hasbeen is the most apt title I've heard yet.  Not like INXS weren't hasbeens themselves, but at least they had a back catalog of material that had proven successful and would help generate interest and ticket sales.. what does Supernova have.. no legitimate back material, only three so-so over-the-hill rockers, largely from sad eighties hair metal bands..

as for Brooke Burke, yes she is good looking, but there are many better, and as a host of the show, like all these shows, she is almost but not as annoying as Ryan Seacrest.. and no amount of t&a will ever make up for that..

the only real quality thing about the show is the performers, a handful of which are in my opinion too good for Supernova.  the sad part is that one of them will have their career ruined joining this group and the others will be written off as also-rans.

and as for opinions.. like they say, "everyone is entitled to their opinion."  but as my father, a highly educated philoshphy professor and administrator, used to be fond of adding, "but that doesn't make them right."

also like So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, and both Canadian and American Idol.  though I prefer to tape them and watch the performances, and critiques and zip through the remaining and infinitely horrible drama that makes up the rest of these shows..

sorry if My "opinions" offend anyone, but I am entitled and I just may be wrong, however unlikely that may be...

I remember teasing my grandmother when she was making pickles "grandma don't forget the kerosene!"

And yes, Ruth was/is (if she is still alive) not the most gorgeous woman..............

Sure you're entitled, that's what the boards are for. I disagree in that I think Newsted and Lee are good musicians, Gilby Clarke less so, I'd rather Dave Navarro do the guitar work.

I love the Rockstar shows. So what if Supernova is a new band? You have to give credit to the pedigree of the 3 guys and the show is just fun. Sure, it is a bit silly but I love rock and roll and some of the singers are really good. I like the way some of them grow throughout the competition.

Same thing with So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars and Idol, great talent.  One really good show, believe it or not, coming from a rock girl, is Nashville Star. Talk about talented singers. That is truly my guilty pleasure....

Just Tivo it all as I do and enjoy!!!

Oh, I absolutely agree.  Despite what the naysayers have to say about it, Tommy Lee, Gilby Clark and Jason Newsted still rock hard enough to fill more than a few stadiums.

As of last week, I'm likin' Dilana and Magni, with Lukas and Storm comin' in second (but that could change), and I absolutely cannot stand Zayra!

I just had to add this... After Rockstar: INXS, I had to go buy Marty Casey's debut CD.  It's very good.
