Since there has been a great deal of discussion in this area recently, i'd like to try to get some expanded input. i was recently asked to research the differences between a slut, a whore and a bitch in the context of BDSM. i haven't put any real effort into it but must admit the question of qualitative difference has been hauning me a bit. Looking to hear the thoughts, opinions, ideas of others....let 'er rip!

Well a slut is the one not doing you, the whore is the one doing everyone else but you, and the bitch is the chick doing both of them giving you a running commentary of how, when, and why (j/k-tic)

I hate this!!!! Personally, I am sick to death of posts debating women, whores, ProDommes et al---I find those terms insulting, cheap and degrading---quite frankly I don't give a rats ass what you call your "other" behind closed doors---but to refer to them as that publically IMHO is barbaric and crude---I don't see us posting and debating the definition of terms used on the male species--- If he or she is good enough to lick your ass and your boots, put up with your crap, mood swings, tributes whatever---they deem terms a hell of a lot better. We discuss Pro Dommes ad nauseum---we never discuss drug dealers, gun runners, slavers or anything that is an illegal occupation. I have seen at least 5 threads in two days about whores--WTH? IMHO the qualitative difference rests with the person who uses that term.

To me the terms are not gender specific and can be used for either female or male. slut is someone who will have sex with just about anyone for free, its done because the person enjoys it. whore charges for his/her services. bitch is someone who takes charge and is pushy about it. ~Lashra

Thanks for the input so far. In my mind the definitions/differences were pretty much in line with what LA has spelled out. The reason for the post stemmed from the fact that i'm pretty new to the BDSM world and although i've done a lot of reading in a lot of places there's still plenty left unexplored and didn't know if i might have missed something specific in the definitions as generally accepted here. Seems like this topic will pretty much fall into the same category of what i've noticed everything else has among reasonable people here...define and use as you wish and is agreed upon with you and your partner(s)...whatever floats your boat! thanks

The difference between a Slut and a Bitch? The slut sleeps with anybody, the bitch sleeps with anybody But You! And a whore is just so damn good at it that they've gained Professional Standing. (There are so many who call me a Bitch for just that reason, after all.... lmao) All joking aside, what LA mentioned pretty well sums things up. Bitch = controling /domineering person, when it's not used simply to indicate a person someone dislikes or has personality clashes with. Slut = someone sexually free in expression, whether they actually take part in the act or not. Whore = someone who gets paid to deliver sexual gratification to another. I'm always a slut, and actually quite proud of that fact. I'm a bitch when it becomes necessary. I'm never a whore - I prefer to maintain my exceptionally talented amature status.

I know there are grand historical references to the words origin... but how many guys.. only had learned the word in the gutter and use it. It's not something that indicates a lot of education on their part the way they use it. I doubt if Master ED understand the original meanings. (Who's Master ED? .. think about it :) A new term)

Would have to say when used in general, they all describe "players" those who have no regard for anything other than getting what they want - and i'm referring to male and female here and Dominant and submissive. However, pqwinny - if you have been asked to do this research by your Dom - then perhaps you might seek a more legitimate source since most on here are just that from what i've seen. i have become sad to see how little regard there is for anything of value in this lifestyle or anywhere else. Would it be ok for me to say, "I do not call Black people racial epithets to their face but I think them however"? Lots of people do, but it still makes them a racist, and you are being sexist. I have been accused time and again of being a feminist, Im not, I am a humanitarian.. I do not like sexism, or racism, or homophobia. Im a mother or a son, Im a daughter of a father, Im a sister of a brother. I have been treated pretty damn good by those men who mattered. My father thought women were fabulous! I guess I do not get sexism from men or women.. I just will never understand how anyone could feel superior to another based on their chromosomes. I think human beings are fascinating... even if most are filled with stupid prejudices and petty hatreds (myself included,... just not on the basis of inborn traits like gender or ethnicity)

I do find this thread kinda funny as well, because it seems to relate to more sexual needs only. Slut=someone who is open about something they like no mater what others may think. ie: a painslut likes/loves pain it does not mean they enjoy sex. A nudist could also be called a nudeslut, or nakednessslut....they love the feel of being in the buff, this though doesn't mean they are overly sexually active to anyone. You could be a Dale Earnhart slut which means your one of those guys that has as much of their parafinalia, junk, stuff, whatever in your house garage etc. Whore=is a sexual thing. It comes from the fact of someone who has let go of their vows of marriage, or chastity to become sexual with others. A sex slave is someone forced into sexual acts and the term whore was usually never applied to them. Whores usually were once married women who either wanted to, or were forced usually by financial situations into selling themselves for sex. In ancient times there was a difference between a whore and prostitute...yet today we have blurred that distinction....mostly because few people ever wish to know the facts. Bitch=is derived from the female dog in heat, or if pregnant. Usually this animal is very moody, could bite without warning, and be very resistful to their masters commands. The term drifted to humans somehow and got stuck there. I don't know if this helps, but its stuff I found out. In the end remember....the truths we cling too depend greatly upon our point of view. [/quote] Thanks Sub...the original request to research the distinction came a while ago from a Dom i was chatting with. His attempt to 'assign' a task far too early in the conversation was part of what caused me to move on. So i never pursued it at the time, but as i mentioned it sort of stuck with me and made me wonder, mostly a curiosity question and it's interesting to note the variety of reactions.

Bitch to me means a woman who is assertive, knows what she wants, demands the best from others and herself, and isn't afraid to get in someone's face if warranted. All good qualities...[sm=banana.gif] Now "bitchy", on the other hand, means nagging, whining and just a general pain in this ass. I call myself a bitch, proudly. However, I am not bitchy... A slut is someone who embraces and celebrates sexuality in all it's forms, whether or not they have multiple partners(or even one). I also say that I am an ethical slut...but I rarely get laid! [:(] A whore is someone who either exchanges $ for sexual services rendered(not including ProDommes) or someone who threatens the sexual views/mores of another...and in their view must be denegrated for doing so.
