The poor schmoe on the "why don't people want me?" has a good 5+ pages going strong, mostly femdoms telling him why he sucks and is about as far from "wantable" as one could get. Rightfully so. The guy has only 1 post, still. I wonder if he even read the responses? A LOT of women made comments on that thread. It made me think -- damn, what if there were a thread by a sub called "Why people want me" -- and he was able to pinpoint why femdoms have been attracted to him, why he was in demand, why he had options for dating, etc. Femdoms -- what would this "dream sub"s post look like? I imagine there will be varied ideas of desirability. One person might say he was desirable because he engaged in relationships as a lover and as a submissive, perhaps in a long-term fashion--another might say she was desirable because she kept love-relationships separate from inequal power or service relationships. My "dream submissive" would like everything I liked right out of the box, but I know one dominant woman who prefers to introduce people to her favorite activities, and I know another dominant who likes submissives who don't like activities but consent to them. While I would think most dominant women would want to receive service--who doesn't want an effortlessly clean bathroom?--reading these boards has taught me that that isn't even uniform. Akasha It is actually a hard question, because it not only includes an attitude and an indication of immediate obedience (such as respondiong with an email according to profile instructions), but a sense of the possibility that this might be a match. Unfortunately it is easier for Me to say what it is I don't want to see (which could be taken as negative) as opposed to what I do want to see. There are intangibles one can sense in postings and emails and profiles. But I did try to make it as clear as I could in My profile.

I prefer someone that has a command of language and can communicate this without trepidation. Ideally the person has some idea what he or she is seeking and can express this without stuttering or refering to the dominant's profile for a hint. I think there's an array of characteristics I'd look for but in all honesty most of that wouldn't be identifiable until we've conversed to some length and shared time face to face. People list an array of traits and skills that are a figment of their imagination or utilized to garner additional attention. I usually cut to the chase and ask why that person is single instead. Gee, as we all know, female subs would never check out male sub profiles. In fact, it hasn’t happened to me all day. Well, ok, two. And no female anythings have ever asked me for more pics. I get, um, I mean, I would be shocked and outraged if that ever happened.

I don't want to see a friggin post about how goddamned special or worthy he is. I want to see it in his actions: how he is willing to help others, to be a champion for healthy D/s, and properly carry himself, whether he's representing himself as someone's property or as someone worthy of being someone's prized possession.
