My goal is to never be the favorite anything around here.  Though I do a have a favorite poster....And its not just cuz I crush the guy, but because he's so bright and his posts always give my brain a work out, or even change my viewpoint at times.  And he's such a prick, but he's a smart prick and I just love that!

I have to agree with MoGa. These threads seem to name the same people and others get hurt because they're not named and as benji said, they're getting rather redundant. I know who my favorite posters are and have several on my favorites list because of their posts. There are a few that I respect here as well, but no names need to be mentioned. I can just tell them myself rather than posting a list in a thread.

There have been other threads on this topic and you were not here during that time, so it is a little harsh to be putting you on the defensive. I do not get hurt when my name is not mentioned in a popularity contest.

I think they are a little innane, and I think of it as a way to flirt, joke, and not a very serious thing.

It was not your intent to hurt, and since you were not here for the other popularity contests, I would not feel bad. I think people need to be responsible for their own feelings, especially when the intent was not to hurt people.

No one should be hurt by being excluded from these types of threads, but it happens.  You probably shouldn't feel bad or angry by what other people write on a thread you began, but it happens.

I wouldn't waste much time or energy with any ill feelings either way....  People are people, and there will likely be plenty more threads just like this in the future.

My favourite posters are the ones that make me smile, laugh, and think. I quite often will write them a note and tell them so.

I don't do public displays of mushiness well.
