i had a really expensive snowglobe that had little flecks of silver instead of "snow," and it did the same thing.  It really pissed me off

I had several, I've noticed the cheap ones don't cloud nearly as fast as the ones you pay much more for.
Though my globe days are over.

I tried doing this seriously yesterday but my server crashed and I was too lazy to retype the whole blasted thing.

I am a Taurus, I like stuff, I like nice stuff, I hate getting rid of stuff. My stuff has to be visually appealing. Needless to say I still have lots of STUFF! I also tend to go thru phases about certain types of stuff.

I love art, love love love. I have more than I can display without my house being cluttered. But I have a few paintings (good ones not my own) quite a few signed prints, lots of antique stuff. I have a passion for old pinups from the 20's, 30's and 40's. I also have several fair sized scuptures that are pinupish. So yeah, lots of art stuff.

Art pottery and art glass. Not alot, just a few really amazing pieces. Some of the perfume bottles from the 20's and 30's are to die for.

Which sort of leads into my most dangerous obsession...........jewelry. It calls me like an evil siren. Of course nothing cookie cutter or regular boring jewelry store stuff.  Usually unique one of a kinds (either the stone or the design) or limited production stuff. Mostly silver but a few great gold pieces. And alot of antique jewelry. I also have a small collection of rare gems, some cut and some rough, that are not set. I have been pretty good the last few months since I sated the gold bangle obsession.

Which leads into my rocks. I love rocks. All sorts of rocks. Everywhere I go I pick up rocks. I have been known to pick up small rocks out of the landscaping in the parking lot of the grocery store. They are displayed all around my house, in bowls, on fence posts, on the floor, you name it. There are a few that I had people cussing up a storm to load into the back of my truck and are permanently placed where they tumbled out of the truck into the yard

Lately I have had a thing for feathers. I keep finding the most amazingly beautiful feathers that I have been picking up and bringing home from my hikes.

Oddly enough I have a fair sized collection of dolls. Not regular dolls, these are porcelain, more like sculpture, and of famous people like....Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Sinatra........etc etc etc.... kinda cool. I have not added to that collection in years.

Plants, house plants are taking over the living room. Also the perinneal gardens keep getting bigger and bigger every year, especially the roses. I am always adding new plants.

I have lots of antiques, all of my wood furniture (tables, chairs, dressers, etc. ) is antique rather than new.

I also went thru a phase of collecting these little plastic german toy animals. All are of the wild variety, lions tigers bears etc. Ranging from 1" to 4" depending on the type and age. I just could not resist them. Itty bitty bear cubs, armadillo, ostrich........so forth. And I have them scattered in odd places all over the house. The ostrich is on the coffee table by an art pottery bowl full of rocks, the hippo on a glass shelf in the bathroom next to some expensive antique perfume bottles. A tiger peering out of the big jade plant. I am weird.

I also have alot of photos all over the house that I have taken of family and loved ones.

Dog and cat hair dust bunnies.

Books, I just love LOVE books! They are stacked here and there around the house.

I am sure there are other things I have totally forgotten about that I cannot get rid of.

Yes but I would make you get into the dumpster!

I am an antiques lover I am afraid. In my previous life, many years ago, I co-owned a wholesale antiques business that also did restoration. Unfortunately I left that whole relationship with barely enough material possessions to have a place to sleep, clothes to wear, and kitchen stuff to cook with (no antiques ) but I have picked up alot of stuff here and there over the years. My most prized wood piece is a huge blanket chest from the 1700's that my grandmother brought to Iowa from Pensylvania as a young woman. I love hand crafted old stuff. I can even get excited about old barn beams and stuff. It's like when I touch old things I can feel the energy of their history, see flashes of its past, kinda weird.
We won't even get into the old native american jewelry I have.........its an illness I believe.

Books.  Definitely books.  Mostly sci-fi, fantasy and gaming related.

Also I collect that which inspired my screen name, Naja.  Also Ophiophagus, Dendroaspis, Aspidelaps, Agkistrodon, Dispholidus, Bitis and a few other genera.  Not much prettier than a nice pink and orange albino Naja kaouthia.

LAT,
one of my best finds was when i took a shortcut thru a dangerous alley....in a big city. i scored gallery a pair of quality paintings, with the $4000.00 look.

in theory for every bag of bric-a-brac that enters- one bag must leave.
lately tho- i been finding too much stuff at garage sales and thrift stores.

i had a date last week- i had him come here for coffee.  "can you help me move this and that" the poor guy.  he did not even get a kiss outa it......

i avoid jewelery- i like how it looks on others- but for myself i feel it is restrictive. in high school gold neck chains were popular- some wore silver. i have my late dads wedding ring. saved me a few times. but i only use it on emergency.....

OMG im into books as well! tho my topics are factual type- system type- how to sort. one just came today.

my books would be too racy for a small town library- so im not sure how i will get rid of them when the time comes.

i helped a buddy emtpy out a 1 br apartment. man that was work. so my place would be a nighmare.

i guess i collect books as well.  i don't really consider it "collecting" though.  Yes, i have gobs of them, but i don't buy them to officially collect them.  i buy them to read :)

i have about a dozen Madame Alexander dolls and some Amy Brown prints (LOVE Amy Brown!), and i'm sure i would have more of each of these if i had more money.
