Empirically speaking, if you are capable of saying no, and making it stick, then you certainly can say no - the map is not the thing, slave is just a word, and free advice is worth exactly what you pay for it.

A true slave cannot say no.
Whose business is it really? To determine whether a slave is true, genuine or real, other than the owner of the slave? To determine what a slave should and/or shouldn't do?
A consensual-slave can say no (unless they are physically incapable of saying anything at all, due to a gag ball or the likes). In most cases, a consensual slave who is committed to honoring an owner's command that they not tell them no, will do their best to not say no. Not all owners of slaves prohibit them from expressing the word 'no'.

quote:

ORIGINAL: malakas
The right to say no nullifies slave status.
It's possible that you've been misinformed. Where are you getting your information from? How are you arriving at these opinions? This may be the case for you, in your particular relationship, and it's not true of all relationships involving consensual-slaves.
From what i understand (from those i know, have known, ... who have discussed it) no one other than the owner of a particular slave is in a position to decide what rights they can or can not grant their slaves. In many cases owners do not believe in slaves having rights, they grant priviledges, which unlike rights, are earned, and if decided by an owner, can be taken back just as easily as they are given.
An owner may grant their consensual-slave the priviledge of being allowed to say no, or to say or do anything else that the owner determines to be acceptable, and some do.
quote:

ORIGINAL: malakas
It's not a matter of consent but one of definition.
It is not the business of any individual other than the owner to determine what their slave is allowed, & not allowed.
In that a slave gives the owner their consent to determine such, and no one else outside of the owner, i wish you the best of luck in applying your definition to any slave you may cross paths with. The best advice i'd offer you in that case is to be certain to place a reasonable and safe amount of distance between you, your groin and the slave.

*When i use the word slave in any of my posts, i'm speaking of consensual-slavery, not to be mistaken with non-consensual slavery, or slavery as it occured on plantations, and cotton fields of the southern US states etc... that'd be illegal and unrealistic, for most.

Well, since we are obviously talking abuot an actual experience here, what was his response?
Was there some idea in his head he was making you face your demons by forcing you to comply?
I would be conserned if he knew how emotionally damaging the act might be and he didnt care but for his own pleasure.  I understand thats how many masters/mistresses think, and far be it for me to badmouth somenoe elses way of doing things. However, if you are going to destroy your pets trust in you by ignoring their needs in this matter, it might not be worth it.

He said that i didnt matter, that what i want or felt made no difference. i am the slave, this is what he wants and he was gonna do it, so shut up and relax

Ok i have to say this man is a real idiot and you for staying with him after beeing treated like this (ok a lil tuff love there)

Me and Master have NO limits and NO safeword. I as slave have no right to say no to Master and still stay in my relationship with him. I have never wanted to or needed to.. I am safe in doing this because Master would NEVER do anything to me like what your 'master'(I use that title loosly in this case) did to you, if he did it would be a deal breaker and I would be gone. I am as responsable for my safety as he is and if he is the cause of the hurt and danger he is no man that I want to call Master or even deaserves to be called such.

slave or not you are human first and any man that doesnt treat you as such isnt worth his waight in shit!!!

And in that case, does he have a degree in anal psychology? Or perhaps in re-rape the victim therapy?
What would make him qualified even if that was his intent?

would seriously consider talking to him about your feelings, and the fact that even as a slave, you are still a human being.  If he understood that you had prior issues, then he should really respect that.  However, if you have given him the idea that you believe the same way he does, that you are a slave and your opinions do not count, then part of this might in fact be your own doing. After al, a master that is given carte blanche from their slaves from day one should have no reasno to expect a limit to materailze out of thin air. Was this discussed as a possible issue before? Or did you give him the impression that no matter what he wanted you would never say no?

DV

I agree TALK to him if possible.  If not get the hello out of there before there is no you to get out.  Even if this was not talked about beforehand, Unanticipated things come up all the time and there should be a table for negotiation regardless of the initial agreements.  It is sad to realize that some people have no decency when it comes to other human beings.  A slave is a HUMAN first then a slave and should be treated and respected as such.

Does a slave have a right to say no? For this slave, she has no right to tell Master no. She gave up that right the day she offered herself to him as property.

That was brilliant!  I love the use of a good analogy.

While not my area , M/s relationship , I would think by the most basic definition of a slave you could not refuse your Master. I feel a M/s relationship is very special and hard to find a real one that is not watered down to a sub not slave. I see self proclaimed slaves talking about the things that their Master wants them to do but they are allowed not to do because they just don't want to do them. I know that limits are decided in advance and respected but these are just things that come up after . If as a slave you were allowed to question or say no , how could you respect your Master for allowing you to do so. There should be a new category ,  Master / slave* , ( * when i want to be )

Well, I am going to piss all the lil' subbies off... but of course you have a right to say 'NO'. Many people are abusive, and I am sorry to say - but this lifestyle can be risky. How many well intentioned and 'obedient' women have been abused, hospitalized, and murdered because they did not seek help, or get out of a bad situation.
It may be more the approach how you say 'NO'. Not as bratty, or rebellious - but one of concern and uncomfortableness.

This has been an interesting thread.  It really punctuates the reasons I would never be a slave.

Or stay with a partner who has little regard for how I might react.  I left a similar situation several years ago.  Since then I have only be serious with men who are not so ego driven that they lose their humanity.

Unless a woman has a burning need to relinquish all control over her life to a man then she is much better off being a subbie. A slave is property, has no power over her fate. A subbie can have all sorts of boundaries and so forth that the dom cannot intrude upon, in fact the subbie can control the situation at her whim. For many women that is all they want, all they can handle. Good for them. However some women have, at their core, a desire, a need, to be totally, utterly owned by a man and for them the idea of having ANY control in the relationship is absolutely NOT what they want.

I agree with Rocker.  It isnt the idea of saying no that is a problem, it is HOW it is said. As it is with my boy, if you say no you must be able to give me a reason why you object to something.  If you cant, then there isa problem.
If you have a legitimate reason for objectiong, whetehr it be an emotional or physical reason, you should be able to explain it.  Politely.
If the Dom in question is not able to accept that, then perhaps they are not a good match for you.

WHOA!! Well look out for legal ramifications! 'No' still means 'No'.  It does not matter if a woman is a slave, a submissive, a slut; if she says 'No'; and you still continue to push ahead - then you can expect some legal action.  No one has the right to rape anyone against their will. I am sure there are many on here who have been date raped, or similar -   it is never acceptable.

clearly this couple know very little about each other! wether D/sub or slave; before entering into any commitment individuals need to know one another well before submission or slavery is given and dommination accepted. It has very little to do with the definition of consensual even 'consensual slavery' (which in itself is an oxymoron!)When both know that the other can meet their expectations as Dom or sub or slave this is the time to impose boundaries and only then can a slave decide that this is the individual they would be happy to never say no to!
