Since ther is no clubs in my area, and I can not travel any great distance to one, what constitutes a good dungeon ?

If cost was not a factor what equipment / furniture/ accessories, etc. would one need to make a home dungeon / play room.?  Has someone ever posted a design or a "shoping list"?

I would think it would depend on what you want to do...but things that come to mind.. kneeling bench, bondage table, St. Andrews cross, whipping post, a cage, suspension equipment,  a medical table with stirrups, racks, maybe a sling, and of course plenty of toys of your choice. There are plenty of sites listing bondage furniture and such to give you ideas. ( cost as no factor?? We should all be so lucky!)

My wish list for our home basement dungeon

1. Ceiling suspension hooks for interchangable use of:
       a. Floating Table
       b. Spreader bars
       c. Sling
       d. Chinese horse
       e. Pull-Up Bar (hell, why not make it an exercise room also?)

2. Whipping Post (this is already there in the form of the steel column support)

3. Leaning ladder rack bolted to the wall. (made to look like a stepped bookshelf)

4. Wrestling mat

I turned a small bedroom into a dungeon.
I took out the closet to make room for a jail cell, custom made to the room out of 2x4's and copper pipes..even has a tray slot in the door.I put big eye hooks in the wall of the cell for attaching handcuffs to.
I have a wonderfully creative submissive that has taken a coffee table and turned it into a table to tie and plastic wrap people to.he also made a queening/smothering box,I have two seats for it,one is solid for sensory deprivation the other for smothering the very selected few that ever get to touch any part of Me.They are tied and wrapped up to the coffee table with their head in the box.
I have hooks in the ceiling and have pulleys of different sizes.
slave bishop and I made a potty chair out of steel tubing(its threaded on both ends).
One wall has hooks for all the floggers, whips, bullwhip, horse whips to hang on.
I have 3 spreader bars W/we made out of big wooden dowels.2 hang from the ceiling and one is for the ankles.
I have a lot of rope of all kinds, chains are also something I like, home depot and wal-mart carry almost everything you could ever need to make a dungeon.
I have some adult stores an hour away that I got most of the hand/ankle cuffs, and the other stuff that hangs on the wall.
I buy halloween costumes(maid,Goddess, prisoner etc) at wal mart after halloween for 2-5 bucks a piece.

Its amazing what an imagination can do.

Working on turning a bedroom over to home office/playroom. Since its an older home I have half inch thick blanks on the walls. Going to put tie down points in the blanks and sheet rock around them. Going to need build or customize some furinture for a spaking bench and stocks. Plan on getting a good rug with lots of padding under it.

Perhaps there arnt many people who have a dungeon.Only because they havent the room or just have others around.

A good imagination is all you need to make a "dungeon".
I dont think there is hardly a regular kitchen item I couldnt find a use for.
I even found a use for the empty TV tray holder...its great for spanking, they bend over it and hold on to the bottom of it,puts that behind right up there...who woulda thought that would work so well...LOL

Rugs are hard to keep clean especially if your using wax or oils and then there is pee play...W/we went with a wood flooring easy to clean and use pillows or special made things to kneel/lay on that have upolstery on them making them easy to clean.
If you do go with carpet a shower curtain is great to use,it works well for pee play on wood flooring not sealed aswell.

I've recently sheet rocked the garage (also added A/C and heat) and am now working on getting the toys. I've got 2 slings for when it's necessary. Instead of a St. Andrews I use a poles at the arms and feet and tied together with chain eyehooked to the ceiling.

I want the plans for a good suspended table and really need a good fold-away horse that can be used for spanking, restraint and just good old fashioned (meaning mid-evil) screwing. Any recomendations are welcome.

I'm hoping to get the place fully functional for events.

The money is no object part is pointless you can order anything  from any online site. As Mistress Sassy wisely pointed out imagination is more important in the case of most people.A shoping trip to Home Depot takes on a totally different look when you adjust your view. Most basic items are not expensive to build yourself if you have even a few basic skills.Don't let not having a large budget prevent you from achieving your goal.

Thank you for pointing that it doesnt have to be expensive, the potty chair W/we built, goes for 400.00 online,W/we spent half that, putting it together required drilling holes in a toilet seat,it took less than a hour to put together including the drilling part.

Home Depot is the bomb!! Again a lil imagination and the most normal or unusual things can be used in OHHHHHHH so many ways.

If your dump/landfill allows you to take things....Try attaching a metal gate to the wall, clean and paint first, then you have a way to tie someone to the wall in a creative way.....Ohhh heres an idea get a small one and have their hands behind their back attached to the gate and then make them try to walk around with it.
I would see how many circles they can do,reward them with the graham cracker treats that look like bones and are called Scooby Snacks.Or maybe thay can have a sip of water...

I might be a lil mean if I think just water is a reward...hmmmmm have to ponder that.

I converted a spare bedroom over to one but the cool thing is that by day its pretty much a normal room that is used for doing workouts, meditation or whatever then at night it converts to a dungeon in about 15 minutes.  All the parts for it I was able to pick up at lowells and Home Depot including the wood and fixtures used to make variouse devices from spreader bars to St. Andrews Cross.  Its all surprisingly easy to make.  The larger furniture though is all made to fold up and hide in a closet so when friends and family come over they see what I call the zen room because its all set up to be as relaxing as possible. Then at night it becomes the zen dungeon.  I have added to it over the course of the last year or so and I am still adding.  All the hooks and eyelits that I use for suspention are hidden behind art work or in the case of the ceiling hook behind an old fire detector.
the smaller hooks that are used to tie down limbs and dont support full body weight or movment just look like oversized plant hooks so I put plants on them... I just tell people I got sick of them pulling out of the ceiling.  The eyelits that are behind picture are done by cutting into the sheet rock next to a stud and mounting it to the side of the stud and I clean up the outer edges where the cut was made and spray paint the inside of the whole white so it dosnt look so bad when the paintings are removed.  I needed heavier frames for the wall art to keep it from falling off or being removed accidentaly so I purchased all kinds of posters of paintings at the local mall then went to the local swap meet and purchased a bunch of cheap prints in these heavy wooded frames so I could use the heavy frames on the paintings.  This gives the room a dark rich look to it.

Dear BD123, Ladies and Gentlemen;

Depending on the footage you have to work with, there are many things that can be done.

My personal favorite is the Dungeon Island, converting a old fashioned bunk bed into a multi-station dungeon furniture frame.  The long side, one can slide 2 doors into a channel as to seal it off, or can make a frame like a window or "H" frame, to which a dominant can get to the genitals, a X frame can slide through the channel, just like sliding closet doors.  Just peg them in as to keep them sliding.  You can use the short side as a pilory/stocks using two boards use the other panels as they inter-change.  Can bolt chain all around the outside of the frame as to do fancy rope bondage, put a rope or chain web on to and then apply the victim.  It also makes good bondage points to double end/panic snap to.  Interior of the island you can hang a swing or floating rack or you can affix a sling for all sort of fun.  You can put in panels on all four sides as to make a cage.  When not in use, you can shove it into the corner.

In the corner you can create a triangle cage; to which looks similar to a china closet.  When not in use, you can add a potted plant and a few birds into a cage for birds (real or not real).

The ottoman is lovely for a spanking bench, a chair can work as well for caning.  The bed can have a X frame/St. Andrew's Cross under the mattress or bed frame and tie horizontal.  Back of the door, can supply a frame by clever use of nylon straps fed into a plastic pipe that when the door is closed creates a frame.  Installing handicap bars in the bathroom, one can have bondage in the toilet/shower area.  But, I wouldn't recommend tying anybody to the shower head.

Closets can be cages or sleeping quarters.  One can raise the bed as to create a box frame slaves can crawl into and under the bed, to which can serve as extra storage when not in use.

These are just a few of my favorite space saving dungeon doings.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

I myself am pretty handy at makng things. Home Depo is the best place to be creative. The costs are small when you do a little at time. My Mistress will tell me what she wants and I'll make it for her. Adds a twist to make her things to use on me!! I like it.

Oh, I love threads like this.  In my ideal dungeon, I'd want:

a horse

a St. Andrew's cross

a St. Catherine's wheel

a whipping post with one or two o-rings on each side

two cages, one tall and tight, one low and long

pulleys, eyeholes in the ceiling and floor, and some hooks, maybe on a beam or something, to secure rope

a thick semi-circular iron bar, bolted to the wall on one end, and with a slot for a lock on the other, to go around a slave's neck and keep her head at cock level (or slightly lower, why not)

Did I forget anything?  You can keep the medical shit and put that in someone else's dungeon.

Oh, yeah, a few more eyehooks screwed low into the wall, just in case I want to thread something like a pair of nipple clamps through them.

Yummy. We have a dungeon built in a two car garage. Now the doors are sealed off and the room is air conditioned (necessary in Texas), and the concrete floor has been sealed with a neat polymer that is simple to keep/wash clean. The toys include two crosses, a rack, a fucking stand, doggie device, ceiling hooks and pulleys, and a "dungeon wall" with lots of ringbolts along one side wall of the dungeon/garage. He had a wooden horse, but that is on loan to friends (I hope it never comes back). Additionally, there are several add ons in the house that also serve as restrictive devices, including an electrical butcher's hoist in the kitchen. A dungeon is what you make of it.
