As for corsets. They are hard. I sew a lot. Corsets completely ellude me. No matter how often I try... Anyway, I -highly- recomend Black Rayne (www.blackrayne.com) for corsets. All of her work is custom, I've seen it on people of all sizes. She's also quite affordable. Her work isn't designed for conistant tightlacing, so if you're waist training I wouldn't recomend her. However as a fashion corset with a -great- reduction she's wonderful. (I wear mine fairly regularly and it's holding up nicely.) Also, in relation to sewing them. I've heared the Laughing Moon patterns and kits are great for begininers. I haven't tried them, so I can't say either way.
