Status: offline 		How Many had a say in their peremant or play collar and how many let their Master/ Dom have complete say in it?

Master let me pick out my play collar he is going to get my all the time collar but he has not found one he likes yet.

Status: offline 		Play collars which serve a functional purpose are generally purchased by both of us when we go toy shopping. I try them on at the pet store or wherever to make sure they fit, they don't have open studs that can catch or scratch my skin etc, then Himself will purchase it or not.

The collar which symbolizes our relationship to one another he choose years before I met him as the collar he would one day give to someone he would own. It was not worn before it was placed on me and it took me a good long while to earn it ... sorta. :)

Status: offline 		my girl asked that a specific leather collar of hers be incorporated into her "formal" collar which is the one she wears at events. To it, we added an amber piece I had bought her when our relationship was new. her everyday collar had her input as well. We went through a couple of things before we found something 1) suitable for everyday 2) that could survive being worn in the shower 3) that her body chemistry didn't corrode and 4) that I liked. It's still not what I REALLY wanted, but I gave that idea up out of respect for her husband. He's a nice guy and I didn't want something like a collar to become a point of argument for them, especially since it has to be cut off.

Status: offline 		Play collars are my decision based on what I like.  Permanent, every day collars, the sub has some input into because he or she is the one who will have to live with it.  We both have to like it.

Status: offline 		We have not thoroughly discussed this process, and we are not there yet. He has said that there would be a ceremony of sorts and that he would have the collar specially made. Since he made this statement I have never asked about it again. For all I know it will just be snapped on when he feels like it. I am not going to ask him about it... that is one thing that is totally not something I want to put my input into until he has expressly told me to do so. I would feel I was pressuring him to make a lifelong commitment otherwise, and that is not my place within the dymanic

I trust him to have good taste and be responsible knowing I would be the one living in it even while working. If he told me he wanted me to pick it out with him, I would do so, but I do not know if he will extend that invitation to me.

Status: offline 		My Sir picked out my collar I will be getting.  He let me pick a couple I liked, but he had the final say.  I love it so much and can't wait to wear it.  Then this weekend, we are going to pick out a play and sleep collar.  I think he was concerned about getting it at the pet store, but I told him I didn't have a problem with it, actually I find it sort of hot.

That's exactly how it happened to me.  I know many will say how inappropriate that is, no ceremony, no forever vows, but for the type of relationship we have, it was fitting.  I was bound and I had no clue he was ever going to give me a collar.   We had talked a few times about collars and what they represent (different things to different people), but we never talked about a collar being part of our relationship.  It's my first collar and it was one of the best surprises.

Status: offline 		He set the criteria for the type of collar he wanted on me.  Then I was sent off to find and show him options of ones I found that I liked.  He chose which one from there.

Status: offline 		Ive never had a collar, but He has sent me some links of some rather pretty ones. If one is chosen for me, yes Id like to give some input on it. If my input is not sought, that is fine as well, as I am sure they both know my tastes well enough, and what my dress code is at work. That being said, Im not sure we are at the point of collaring yet. But, again thats not a decision I have to worry about. I am happy just to be able to be with them as we ar able. My focus is on them and not on a collar.

My daily collar that I have worn since March 5th and will for a year is something I did have some say into. I picked it out actually and he had it embellished as a surprise.

Our permanent collar that I will wear forever is something we have both spent a lot of time on. We have finally picked out what we consider the best option for us and we have together designed a pendent for it. It will be beautiful and very personal. I can't wait to have it around my neck.

Status: offline 		His collars that I wear were made by him and I had no knowledge of them prior to one going around my neck.  Now the necklace and charm that I wear on a daily basis as a symbol of his ownership I had some say in picking out.  He told me what he was looking for, told me to give him several choices and then he picked what he liked best.

This reminded me of a time in February when my Lord and I went to the pet store so he could find a gag.  I had to keep trying out all of the doggie chew toys to see if they fit my mouth!!  Part of me was horribly embarrased and the other part of me just wanted to bust out laughing.

Status: offline 		My first and well-worn collar was given to me by my Master and was a surprise - it is a plain black leather dog collar that he purchased at a feed store.  We selected another collar together at a fetish event about 5 years ago that is made with black leather and silver square links, and I wear it to parties most of the time.  I also have a "vanilla" collar that Master helped design and gave to me at our "re" collaring this time last year - it is a simple but beautiful blue opal on a heavy silver chain. I wear it whenever I leave the house.  Argent is the latin for silver - the silver chain holds and protects the opal as he holds and protects me.
