MasterNdorei -> The Branding Post (10/13/2006 9:12:40 PM)

To avoid hijacking anothr thread, i want to open up a thread about branding.

i was strike branded over the summer, and would love to hear from others who have been branded.

The One who owns me is a 5th degree black belt in Ju Jitsu. The kanji He selected is the name His teacher gave Him many years ago. It took 12 strikes to complete, is roughly 5 inches squared, and is located on my left shoulder blade.

i was amazed that there was literally no pain for me.... ok, three instants of pain, but combined they would not fill a full second of time. There is another sensation that drove me crazy though.... the four letter word that is permanently etched in my mind about this experience... no not that four letter word... the word is ITCH!!! Did anyone else come up with something to soothe the itch?

i remember hearing about certain ashes that can be applied during the healing process to further impact the scarification process. The man who branded me said he had only heard of rubbing ashes into cuts, not brands. Can anyone tell me about ashes that can be used to enhance brand scars?

if you want something to make the scars deeper, you can run a *very* sharp razor over the healing scars, a dn then rub in something like salt or anything to aggravate the wound... just make sure to irrigate it after about 1/2 hour. By which I mean pour water over it to keep it clean. Note that I havent tried this, but one of my friends is very into body mods, and I havent seen her get an infection yet. The jey word is probably yet. The things that have worked for me re itching, with piercings and tattys at least, are giving the area a firm slap, or in the case of piercings, soaking the area in hot water, taking a shower, or just pressing my nails into the itching area.

cheers,
gypsy.

I'm fascinated by branding (I blame he Story of O - read at a very impressionable age!)

You talk about 'strikes' - was this branding done with hot iron? Or is it some kind of tattoo?

Rubbing ashes into a healing wound can make scars worse, but the risk of infection is very high - you need to take care.  The best cure for itching is a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water.

(Edited due to total lack of typing skills, and shoddy proofreading before hitting 'ok')

yeah i love Story of O... and yeah the 'strikes' thing makes me think of an old tribal way of doing tattoos.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: The Branding Post (10/14/2006 1:46:38 AM)

I have two brands, one on each forearm. They are words in braille. The left says "servant master", the right says "warrior priestess". 39 dots on the left, 49 on the right. They were done with a cauterizing pen and each dot was done twice. About 9 months later, I had them redone since I don't keyloid much. Here are pictures of the process.

There's also been a few threads on branding already...check those out using the search function.

At first, it was because I was going to put a death memorial on my body, but I didn't feel that everyone needed to know who it was. Then, it evolved from there. I wanted words, but braille is a hell of a lot easier to brand than actual script.

My girl has the I-Ching branded on her forearms and has had for many years.

coooool. thanx. love the whole ritualistic way in which you did it too.

I, too, was strike branded during my collaring ceremony.  I found that sunburn relief gel (with aloe) helped the itch stop.  I also used a thin layer of Neosporin to keep it from getting infected.  But that itch was almost maddening at times!  I had to be careful though if I got the urge to scratch because mine is on my left butt cheek.  [:D]

I was branded a little over a year ago.  When the iron hit I remember reacting like i was in pain but I really can't remember if I was in pain or if it was just that I mentally expected pain.  What I do remember is right after the branding there was absolutely no pain and wicked strong endorphins mixed with strong sexual arousal.

We also did a strike branding and purposely did it deeper than we had seen others (other brandings we had seen done were typically a quick flash branding, maybe about two or so seconds of a not hot enough in our estimation iron... that resulted in a brand that lasted barely a year) and everyones experiences differ but I definitely had the itching.  I also had pain as the nerves grew back and the skin grew back.

Aloe vera gel or cocoa butter can help, but those will also speed up the healing.  I wouldn't suggest putting ash or things like that in your brand to make it scar.  What I did, but you have to be careful about doing was I waited until the entire design had scabbed and then I pulled up the scab in entirety.  I was forbidden from picking at the scab besides that, because if you pick at the scab to much you'll fuck up the design - because as i'm sure you've noticed a strike brand blobs about three times bigger at least than the initial width of the iron.  So if you pick at it to much you'll just destort the way the skin heals around the actual design and you'll end up with a bad looking brand.  I found that with the healing it was a very delicate balance of treating it (appropriately) like a wound but also treating it as a wound that you don't want to entirely heal.  But I would not at all suggest putting ashes in your brand.

I've posted it a bunch of times, but I have a site that chronicles the brand healing and how it looks now that may help you get an idea of the progression.  Its at:

http://www.wildfleurs.com/brand

Congratulations on getting branded,
C~

Edited to add: I'd also reccomend not scratching it as much as possible, because you can also distort the design by doing so.  What I would do was scratch the skin two inches away from the brand to distrct me.

MasterNdorei -> RE: The Branding Post (10/14/2006 9:49:59 PM)

The brand i received was formed out of sheet metal, heated with a  blow torch until it was glowing bright red/orange, and applied immediately.... while it was still glowing. i have no idea how long it was held, i just know i can relate to the disbelief that it was not hurting. There is a sensation that is beyond pain... where pain should be. It makes you say things... hehehe and it definately catapulted me into an adrinaline rush that lasted a day and half. (Though the most intesne rush was over in a few hours.)

Master was the One to slap the brand because i could not reach. i loved the sensations.... the pulsing, and feeling it rise when He would spank it a little harder than was needed to relieve the itch... i am looking forward to a good flogging on it!

i was told not to put anything on it that would moisturize it, as the goal is the complete opposite as for ink. So Master soaked it in hydrogen peroxide three times a day for weeks. Too late for me i also heard Master could have used rubbing alcohol.... imagine that burn!!! Wooooo hoooooo!

Miss Gyspylee, you have mail. :D

i would love to see pictures, if anyone is willing to share, or trade.... please send them directly to my profile.

Enhancements of cuttings and brandings can be done with everything from wine to white tattoo ink to cigar ash.  However, they need to be done in the FRESH wounds.

You can also extend the keloiding with lemon juice, abrasion of the healing site with buf-puf facial pads/toothbrush or nailbrush, vinegar, toothpaste, or peroxide (inhibits cellular healing at wound edges.)

Folks keloid in all different ways.  You may need to be RE-branded if the scar lines did not enhance to the point that you wanted it.

mtumwawaBwana -> RE: The Branding Post (10/15/2006 12:21:57 AM)

i was given a kef many years ago. i had to rub potassium mixed with sodium in the wound while healing. the burn from the original brand was nothing like the daily burn from the wound treatments.

Master will be tattooing then branding me again. the colour contrasts with the 3D affect from the brandings should be beautiful when fully healed.....i cant wait........but then again the impending pain at times gnaws at me......

if Master allows, i will post when all is done

slatherings to all

Thank you for this - I'd heard of branding, but had no idea how beautiful it could be.
