chellekitty -> RE: The Branding Post (11/15/2006 6:01:46 AM)

actually talked to a lady who cold branded horses and dogs for a living who had had a few experiences with cold branding humans, for art purposes...wish i could remember more but it is the same way they cold brand a cow or horse just less time and a thinner branding tool...just like a hot brand...

as for hot brands, cautery pens are the way to go, very painless as opposed to what i have written previously, never having an experience with them...and after my most recent tattoo, i would get a brand any day...itching didn't bother me much and due to my keloiding it should be a one time thing...(pics of my brand are on my profile, i think)

Freeze Branding is a permanent livestock marking procedure that involves minimal discomfort to your horse, it is the process of using a super cold branding iron to alter the color pigment producing cells. The result is that white hair, instead of colored hair, grows at the brand site.  This process does not cause keloiding, something most ranchers and owners of show animals prefer over traditional heat brands.

BME has a section in the FAQ on human CB, but it doesn't really sound like an effective method of body mod to me.  http://www.bmezine.com/scar/scar-faq.html#S7

Decadentpleasure -> RE: The Branding Post (11/20/2006 10:27:18 AM)

Last year for a 2nd anniversary gift, Master decided to mark me permanently as His.  i knew of His plans and went about getting the steel pieces for the branding.  i looked all over the internet for specialize brands but found nothing i wanted nor what my Master had in mind, so i went to the local sheet metal shop.  i showed them the design schematic, mentioned 4 pieces of metal being needed and asked if they would be able to help.  They asked what it would be used for and i kinda sorta lied saying 'kid leather'..lol.  They did help out immensly by using scrap metal, filing it down to remove any burrs after they'd shaped the pieces and gave it to me for free!  The branding ceremony between my Master and myself was private, just Us and a memory that will always be with Us.  The following is a poem i wrote about my branding.

Four tiny pieces of metal
shiny and everso bright
alone and each by themselves
not much of a sight.

But when heated by fire
to form a specific design
Their intense desire results in
a symbol that shall say MINE
.

He carefully heats each piece
within the flame's red hot glow
only for her Darling Master
her loving submission will show.

His softly whispered words
gently caress her ears
"Ready My baby?'' He says
has her very close to tears.

For it is an honor so great
upon her that He doth bestow
to brand His cherished slave
His Love for her, He will show.

As she feels the impending heat
she closes her deep blue eyes,
hears the brief sizzle as
heated metal touches her thigh.

A quiet moan escapes
from between her parted lips
as she buries her face deep
within the soft pillow she grips.

she looks up to her Beloved Master
with shining bright blue eyes
and softly whispers to Him
as her heart soars and flies.

'please kiss me, my Master
i need to feel Your Loving touch'
He smiled down upon her
the Man she loves everso much.

Before each strike made
her Beloved Master does give
a Loving kiss and soft remark
of a time They will always relive.

Eight times she quietly moans
as He brands her soft pale skin
until the design is completed
the lines, dark brown and thin.

'I love you My baby,
you make Me so very proud'
His smile and soft words makes her heart soar
as she finds herself in a subspace cloud.

'i love You too, my Darling Master'
her lips lovingly profess
as her fingers graze the new brand
in a soft exploring caress.

Afterwards They stand at the mirror
Both grinning from ear to ear
gazing at His handiwork
His Mark They hold so dear.

They continue to look with wonderment
at the His brand upon her He had placed
a testament of Their Love and His Ownership
a Mark that shall never be erased.

SweetEscravo -> RE: The Branding Post (11/20/2006 10:58:54 AM)

I don't know if I could ever get a brand, but my tattoo comes close.  I think that's as far as I'd ever be able to go...

subjected2006 -> RE: The Branding Post (11/20/2006 11:14:31 AM)

cold branding is getting to be the choice of farmers by the way..
seems to me the scarring is the same but less labor intensive ..
there was a thread on here awhile back that had some links i think.
good luck..I prefer the temporary marks that have to be "renewed"
LOL
