Hey folks, If you want a quick read on what is going on in Philadelphia, this could be it in a nutshell. One page back I posted on what I called the broken Eagles' defense. Now I know there may only be a handful of Eagles fans here, but for those wondering what the heck is going on in Philadelphia, this is a big part of the answer. I am re-posting my own quote, and then following it with an interesting clip from some local sports guys where they discuss at about the 30 second mark exactly what I was mentioning. quote:
We have disappeared in too many games against the run in the fourth quarter and I just don't see this new defensive scheme working for us. Yesterday was the worst. Did anyone see the play/highlight when the Bills Fitzpatrick just decided to run a quarterback sneak? It wasn't for a TD or to pick up six inches to get a first down, it was just too good an opportunity to pass up. There were literally no defensive players in front of him and his center. In the replay you don't see the whole field but there was not a green jersey to be seen on the line of scrimmage for a good two yards to his left or right. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/blogs/birds-nest/Is_the_Wide_9_Too_Wide_Open__Philadelphia-131490853.html For the record the first fellow speaking, John Clark, is still relatively new to the game of broadcasting but is steadily year after year carving out a name for himself. Howard Eskin sits to the far right. Howard has been around for decades and could have been a national superstar if he hadn't ticked so many people off with his blunt candor. The host of the show is Vai Sikahema, a likeable personality and an all-around stand-up guy who also happens to have been a two time Pro-Bowler. He retired in 1993. Oh yea, and he once knocked out Jose Canseco. -Sashareign reporting for Collarme
