I know there arent too many Vick fans here.... but has his defense just given up?

His defense didn't throw four interceptions yesterday.  Their offense coughed up the ball FIVE times yesterday.  When your team's turnover margin is -4, you shouldn't expect to win.

They arent my team. Nor do I expect them to win. But as Sashareign pointed out, he is getting banged up alot recently.

I was using the generic "you", not referring to you specifically.

Yup, he's getting banged up.  Lots of QBs are.  Rough game, football.

Personally, Im glad to see the Eagles losing. I dont know why, but I dispise any team that suddenly becomes a "Dream Team". That, and I think Vick is an animal abusing peice of shit, along with being your typical whiny pretty boy QB

Well I am off to see if the Lions can win one for Barry Sanders. No television in this house. To my final hour I will always maintain Barry should have had a better fullback.Walter Payton had one. Heck, that guy was driving Walter to the hospital for his cancer treatments at the end of his life. He (the fullback) never gave up. He essentially blocked for Walter his whole life.

That's football.

Hope everyone enjoys the game,

-Sasha

Hey folks,

If you want a quick read on what is going on in Philadelphia, this could be it in a nutshell.

One page back I posted on what I called the broken Eagles' defense. Now I know there may only be a handful of Eagles fans here, but for those wondering what the heck is going on in Philadelphia, this is a big part of the answer. I am re-posting my own quote, and then following it with an interesting clip from some local sports guys where they discuss at about the 30 second mark exactly what I was mentioning.

quote:

We have disappeared in too many games against the run in the fourth quarter and I just don't see this new defensive scheme working for us. Yesterday was the worst. Did anyone see the play/highlight when the Bills Fitzpatrick just decided to run a quarterback sneak? It wasn't for a TD or to pick up six inches to get a first down, it was just too good an opportunity to pass up. There were literally no defensive players in front of him and his center. In the replay you don't see the whole field but there was not a green jersey to be seen on the line of scrimmage for a good two yards to his left or right.

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/blogs/birds-nest/Is_the_Wide_9_Too_Wide_Open__Philadelphia-131490853.html

For the record the first fellow speaking, John Clark, is still relatively new to the game of broadcasting but is steadily year after year carving out a name for himself. Howard Eskin sits to the far right. Howard has been around for decades and could have been a national superstar if he hadn't ticked so many people off with his blunt candor. The host of the show is Vai Sikahema, a likeable personality and an all-around stand-up guy who also happens to have been a two time Pro-Bowler. He retired in 1993.

Oh yea, and he once knocked out Jose Canseco.

YSG is right. The Eagles a dream team ? What a joke. Any team that has never won a SuperBowl should keep their trap shut until they do..

I am with you. I don't know how that got started. Don't read the papers myself. I hope it wasn't the players themselves too much. Still if they could learn to execute...

No doubt Lombardi would have them in shape quick.

The Eagles being a dream team is almost as bad as the Cowboys being America's team. Another bad joke.

While they have deffinitely fallen on some poor season's the last decade, they continue to be the most valuable team in the country, and one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world. I believe they are #3, but I am not positive. Not to mention JJ keeps spending bizzare amounts of cash to keep them in the public eye. That new stadium that cost over a billion dollars certainly helps.

Damn JJ for the new stadium.

He cheated my aunt in Irving out of her $15 to park in her front yard to watch the Cowboys' games. OK, just kidding there. She never actually did that.

CamMania, CamNation, whatever you want to call it, ...  not happening this year, but after that, look out, folks.

I don't see him ever being a superstar or a superbowl winner with Carolina. He might get traded to another team after his contract is up and possibly see one, but he's no less than 3 years away from being capable of getting to the playoffs. He's horribly inneficient and makes terrible decisions, he was only a star because of his running ability in CFB, wich does nothing for him in the NFL. The players are faster, bigger, and far more disciplined in thier responsibilities in the NFL. He's a great athlete and has potential, but he's extremely inexperienced and raw. I know he took the money to help his family by going into the draft, but I think he hurt himself more than helped himself by doing so. I'd be the first to publicly apologize and bow down to all the camfans if he pulls off a miracle in the next two or three years, but I'll sleep easy knowing that ain't gonna happen.

He is a rookie, and if he throws even half the interceptions or makes even half the terrible decisions that Peyton Manning did in his rookie year, then we are already ahead of the game here. Rothlisbeger got away with his stupidity by virtue of a stout running game and the NFL's best defense at the time. There is a reason as to why he was held to no more than 25 passes per game, the less the better.

Cam's accuracy was in question, rightfully so by what we saw at Auburn or in pre-season, but he took care of that situation, or at least, two 400+ yards passing in his first two games would say so.

Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning were lost causes, by your accounting of things.

Don't quit your day job.

That's like comparing Ray Lewis to Clay Mathews. Rediculous.

Edit to add : Never said he was a lost cause. I said he has talent and it is undeveloped. You must be a zealot who nerd rages any time someone tells you to wake up and face reality.

Call us back after you have slept it off.

You propose 'reality' here? I just gave you the lowdown on Peyton Manning's (3-13) and Troy Aikman's (1-15) rookie years. More reality than you can handle, obviously.

I'm not the one who needs sleep here. Clearly your irrational delusions have the best of you. Good luck kiddo.

You are slobbering now. Please quit embarrassing yourself further.

432 yards passing against the most recent Super Bowl champs does not constitute 'reality' for you, then?

I say again, please quit slobbering here.
