Well, I thought it was appropriate when they took Bledsoe out and put in Romo that his first throw is intercepted. We have our own problem here. Ben had a concussion during Sunday's game. This is bad, bad, bad, because he had a concussion in that motorcycle crash in June as well. There is a lot of unnerving studies about qb's and concussions and how once they get them they are more susceptible to concussion injury in the future, and the recovery time takes longer (and hell, at some point they start drooling and can't speak too.). ::sigh::

You guys need to get a running game going, I didn't think losing Bettis would affect the offense this much.

If Ben were forced to sit out for a couple of weeks, it could be the "best" thing to happen to the Steelers. Ben has been playing like crap and Charlie Batch is 3-0 in his last three starts. I say give Charlie a shot until Ben manages to get his act together. ~stef

You might be on to something, stef. He's never really healed up from the injuries and surgeries, so maybe an enforced rest could help get him back up to speed. Batch is a decent QB, and Pitt should not have trouble with the Raiders.

You know, it's odd. I've been thinking for a while now that the Cowboys have to make a change, because they're not going to win anything with Bledsoe, but I don't understand what was so terrible about his first half in last night's game that they had to bring in Romo at that moment. Parcells is giving way, just a hair, to public pressure and/or Jerry Jones, in my opinion. If Dallas had the O-line from the Super Bowl days, Bledsoe might do a lot more damage. I don't want to go back to the days of Craig Morton/Roger Staubach or Danny White/Gary Hogaboom musical chairs.

Sheeesh ! I take a quick trip to Vegas and my friend Katy starts a football thread without me.[sm=frown.gif] And another thing.... am I the only Pats fan on the board? So for the brag... I watched all the games simultaneously at the sports book, Sunday, but predominantly kepy my eyes on the Patriots. Maroney is looking good to make rookie of the year. I have been concerned all season about our passing game, which they kicked up a notch on Sunday. Looks like Brady is getting in sync with the new recievers. Gabriel and Caldwell looked more relaxed. The Defense is... well it's the Defense, those guys always get it done. No word on the Seymour injury, there never is up here. If he is not ready to go on Monday night Green replaces him and has done very well when called into the game. I'm expecting a fight against the Vikings, who knows which way it will go. Katy : The sports book was full of Steelers fans, all sporting their jerseys and cheering pretty loudly. I think the majority of the people in there were Steelers fans and it was kinda sad when they lost. I just heard about Bens concussion today. I think some one is trying to give him a message, but he isn't listening. Level: I think the Cowboys threw all there eggs in one basket this year. Tuna's contract extension, scoring the illustrious TO and Vanderjerk from Philly and Indy. I think Jones thought this would secure them a play off spot, if not a SB win. I am not a Dallas fan, but have a huge spoft spot in my heart for my former QB, Bledsoe. It was sad to see him on the sidelines last night after he got pulled. They guy has the heart and the dedication, unfortunately he has lead feet and makes really poor decisions. I heard the strangest thing today on Sports radio. They were saying that Bledsoe's QB stats and rating, are better then Terry Bradshaws [8\|] mbmbn

I have to agree. I don't think his performance warranted replacing him. That's why I smirked when it really went to crap for them. And I agree, it's time to let Ben rest and fully recover from everything. Perhaps it is too much for him. Although people tell me that the docs wouldn't release him to play if they didn't think he could do it. But if time is what he needs to get it together, I can wait patiently. If not, mbmbn will have some kool-aide ready for me. edited because the lil devilish emote didn't work

Hi mbmbn [;)]. About Bradshaw..... he struggled the first few years of his career, and he did NOT look like a Hall of Famer; over his career, if I remember right, he threw almost as many ints and tds.... but of course, he has 4 rings.

I also thought it was awful the way the camera kept showing him. I know it's all business, but replacing the qb sends so many signals to all of the players, especially if the qb is in a position of team leadership (which is often the case).

We're feeling sorry for Drew Bledsoe? There are a few athletes in history that I've felt sorry for--Joe Louis comes to mind--but there aren't many of them, and Drew Bledsoe isn't one of them.

Well, it's more global for me. The public humiliation of a player in that situation. The camera panning over. It's intrusive, and I will admit, good tv as well.
