Hi All,

Another Domme and I were discussing the idea of putting together a Blog for all the mail and yahoo messages that we've been receiving lately that clearly fall out of our search criteria as we have set up on our profiles.

But then I was thinking about how sometimes, when you aren't looking, a potential partner sort of comes along.

About three weeks ago (maybe 4 now) I was perusing another 'kink' personals site, and was coming up with the same handful of submissives I always do when I look in my specific city. For shits and giggles, I decided to widen my range, to encompass the 2 other cities that are about an hour away from me.

As I looked through the other profiles, I came across one that said "I get browsed a lot, but not much mail." So, being the nosey parker I am, I decided to give his profile a look. He was a paying member, but had only said a little bit about himself, and only filled out the easy point and click demographic questions. He had no kink list nor did he have any long answers filled out.

So, being the wonderful person I am, I jotted him a quick note saying he might get more action if he took the time to fill the other stuff out. Several days later, I got a mail note from him thanking me for the suggestions and that he would fill the profile out more. When he filled out the kink check list, he wrote me and I looked at it, and wrote him back saying "good boy, now how about the longer answers?" Again, I got a mail from him saying he would fill the essays out and when he did he let me know.

This was not someone, at first glance, I thought I'd be interested in. Seeing that he was a paying member, and my financial situation being a little tight these days, I just thought I'd give him a lesson in supply and demand, in that, if he supplied a little more information, he might find himself in greater demand. ~grin~

Well, after all this was said and done, he continued to send me mail, and we had a nice correspondence going. He offered me a picture, and I took it. He was attractive, and seemed articulate in his mail and hadn't said anything to that point to make me think he was an HNG.

Since these casual mails, we've gone to Yahoo Messenger and have begun regular phone conversations. This was not a submissive who at first glance on paper, I thought would be someone who I would be interested in meeting, however, he has become that.

Who knows what will happen? Maybe, just maybe, I've dealt with the requisite quota of frogs and my kinky prince has finally shown up? LOL. Either way, this connection has renewed my faith in the fact that there actually are boys out there who may fit what I'm looking for.

So, Ladies, you just never know....

Lily

If you have any inside info on how many frogs are in that quota, I'd love to know :)

Best of luck Lily!

Thanks so much!! I had to put two kitties down 1 1/2 years ago and I miss them so much, so when I decided to get a tat I wanted some kind of kitty.

I have the original artwork around here somewhere...
It was a black and white ink drawing and I brought it into my tattoo guy and told him I wanted it in color. He said no way and I'm so glad he did. Looks much better without color.

Jay Wheeler is the artist and he's amazing - and completely adorable. Here's his website:

AACK, of course Jay Wheeler would be on the other side of the US. I'm going to give my sub one of those tribal upper arm tattoos for his birthday and need a good so cal tattoo artist. I've admired yours since you showed up on the boards.

Thanks Beach! Ya never know - you could drop Jay an email and see if he knows anyone there. What I did is ask someone who had a tattoo that I thought was very well done and they told me Jay had done it.

Update:

D/s aside, men are just...weird ~grin~

Ok, so I meet the aformentioned guy last week, and we have a very pleasant 2 hour coffee. He's nice, but he looks NOTHING like his picture. He's not unattractive, but I'm sitting in the Starbucks waiting to meet him, a man walks through the door and I look up and say "Ok, that's not him," to myself as he makes a Bee line to me and says "Lily?" I remark as the conversation progresses that he doesn't really look like his picture. He then says "Wow, you look exactly like yours," to which I reply, "that's the point" ~grin~

So, as I said, it was very pleasant, and as we walked out to the parking lot, he offered me his hand to shake. I dunno, that always seems kind of odd to me as the closer on a date. And he wasn't gross or anything, so, I hugged him. But, needless to say, I didn't really get the vibe that I was like his picture of Uber Domme, so I chalked it up and figured I'd never hear from him again.

So, over the weekend I get an obscure Yahoo message from him saying something about Tuesday. We hadn't made any plans, so I shot him back a message saying I had no clue what he was talking about and he should call me.

So, out of the blue the other night, he calls me. And gushes about what a great time he had, and asks me about my plans for the weekend. And then asks me to see him on Sunday, which I accepted.

So, the moral is, you really never know. I didn't think he liked me, and I told him that on the phone. He said "No, I liked you, I'm just a scatterbrain." LOL...so of course I'm thinking about how to train him into a little more attentiveness ~eg~

Lily,

I hope the date works out great! I read your opening post, and thought what you ended up writing, that just because someone isn't exactly what you are seeking, doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy interacting.

On occasions, I have emailed a Domme or two, made it clear I was only looking to talk, and that I wasn't interested in being a submissive. I've made great friends that way!

Stephan

Hahaha you go Lily

I too have made some great friends in the lifestyle with those who may not necessarily be 'what I was looking for'. In fact, whenever I am looking for something in particular I tendnot to find it. then when i stop, it can fall into my lap.

As you know I am not curenlty involved iwth anyone, but the friendships I have made both online and in real life are priceless! Be they Man, Woman, Straight, gay, Bi, Dominant, Submissive or switch.

There are some great folks on CM, and elsewhere, and sifting through the chaffe is well worth it and I'm grateful that the search filters are not my primary sifting mechanism lol

best
Joshua
