I want to get some for quick temporary clean up, but I am worried that all the crap like aloe and scents and stuff would encourage female problems like yeast infections

They're 100% safe. Its actually a stripper trick to use baby wipes before shows so that no discharge or lint will show up under the black lights. If you're really sketched out about it, use unscented ones, but really... If theyre safe enough for a newborn with virtually no immune systems, you'd have to think they should be fine for an adult.

There are also other types of hygene wipes available but like MistressTexas said if they are gentle enough for newborn bottoms they should be just fine for adult ones.

I buy the Equate(Walmart) brand of flushable wipes.  I keep those in my bathroom for use there, but I also carry a small ziploc with some in my purse.  They are unscented and I've never had any problems from using them, and I use them at least several times a day.

As a mum of three wee beasties, they are fine for vagina and hands, face for spills and dribbles.

Spot clean up on legs and body and even clothing!  Safe, easy and cost effective!

Yay!

If one uses them occasionally, no big gig, although I had a daughter that was irritated by the aloe ones, just red and dry and itchy.

So, far worldwide, only a couple of million people have died from baby wipes, but they had to eat alot of them.

Great. Safe enough for strippers? Well, then, it's safe enough for me!

I would advise you to check out the ingredients listed on the package of the wipes you intend to use and then decide if you want those chemicals to be coming into contact with your vagina, bearing in mind that mucous membranes are notoriously good at absorbing chemicals.

One of the ingredients in most commercial babywipes is a chemical that mimics the human hormone estrogen.

http://ezinearticles.com/?Baby,-Wipe-It-Out---How-To-Reduce-Your-Babys-Exposure-To-Toxic-Chemicals&id=351816

You can make your own babywipes without most of the chemicals, especially if you use an all-natural soap/babywash base. Probably ends up being cheaper in the long run, especially if you are using them often.

There are lots of recipes online.

And Im not sure where the poster was going with the immune system line of reasoning...what does the immune system have to do with whether or not a babywipe is safe to use on a baby's skin?

I use cheap unscented baby wipes all the time. They work great for me. One head's up however, not all babies can tolerate them. My 3rd unmentionable from day 1 has been allergic to them. They break her out badly no matter what brand or type. I've tried them all. It's been nearly 10 years and she still cannot tolerate them at all.

It's not me that has a prob with them. They work great for me and I do have somewhat sensitive skin. It's my youngest daughter that is allergic to them. I tried every type and brand with her and all did the same thing. Within 30 mins tops she would break out in a rash and itch badly. Finally figured it out and only used wet cloths after that, but even now almost 10 years later, she can't have any contact with them or it happens again and it's only her of my 4 that has this problem.

I think baby wipes are brill ... i use them "down there", i use them to wipe off my make up - sometimes really thick eye make up too ... and to clean up after a session (ie men's bits and pieces lol) ... I have never had a problem with them ... they have been used down there and on my eyes, on sensitive skin where i have had spots or whatever and never a problem ... and they're so so cheap ... much cheaper than make up wipes or those "special feminine" wipes lol ... they certainly get my vote!!!

i've been using baby wipes (sensitive formula) in that area for years. i find they feel a lot nicer, and work much more effectively than those playtex and other wipes especially made for that purpose. tried those once and broke out terribly. but the pampers or huggies sensitive baby wipes...no problem.

I keep a big package of them in the bathroom all the time and have never had a problem with an allergic reaction. However I have no known allergies, not even the typical poison oak and ivy. I would say it depends on the person. Try it and if you don't get any burning or itching I would say its all good.

The ones I use are called TushiesWipes and I get them at Whole Foods - Alcohol Free and Hypoallergenic with Aloe, and they don't have that baby powdery scent which I do not particularly care for.
