I do not attempt to achieve sub space for the simple reason that I want to feel pain in all its wonderful glory...so I really can not answer the question in any way, shape or form....

While we're on the topic of subspace...all those chemicals surging through you body...surely that can't be good for you?  Does anyone know what the long-term healthy implications of subspace are?

I'm still new at all this.

Umm... those chemicals are adreline and other endorphines. Nature's drug. Perfectly healthy as far as your body is concerned.

honestly i do not think they are connected. in my experience, subspace seems to be something closer (but not really too close) to hypnosis or deep meditation than genital stimulation.

Wait.  So youre saying you can't even get an organic slave these days?

What about free range?

every time i turn around, i hear someone talking about "sub-space"...what is it and how do you find it?

Physiologically, and I have posted this elsewhere, is that the body secretes certain hormones into the bloodstream to counteract certain stimuli, such as pain, sexual arousal, etc.

One of these substances are endorphins, which the body secretes to deal with pain.  This substance has similar effects on the brain as morphine / heroin as those compounds hijack the same neuroreceptor. To answer your question, subspace is the sensation you get in to with pain and the like where you are floating about like a stoner dude.

Clear as mud?

excuse me for perhaps hijacking this thread, and im not sure if im asking what i mean to.. lol... but is subspace connected to sexual response at all, or is it just during play (bondage, etc..) and can you have one w/o the other?

it is not solely reached by sexual means but it can be reached that way for some. Mental torture is my quirk..... the only common factor is stimulus of some kind is needed.... Mental, physical, sexual, emotional triggers can shoot you out into sub space.... and yes you can most def have one w/o anyother

i don't try to achieve it - it just happens - though i have been asked to pull out of it on command.

I am the exact opposite. I can feel it coming on and I push it aside, literally. I don't want to lose the feeling of being alive that pain brings.

Yeah, it sounds like fun, 'till someone comes to get my eggs.

If you want to scramble them, all you have to do is ask nicely.

benji

Subspace that's either the slip in the navy yard where they park a submarine, or a comercial restraunt space particularly suited to opening a Blimpies/ Quiznos/ Subway.

you feel less alive in subspace? not a judgement at all - it is interesting.i don't. i feel deeply alive in subspace. i am not much of a masochist though.

Yes and no.

I do not know of any endorphin substances which cause problems.

Adrenalin is secreted which raises blood pressure and the like.

What really trashes you is the cortisol and ACTH which is secreted to bring you down from adrenalin.  These, especially cortisol, trash internal organs and ACTH gives you a similar effect to a hangover.

Drink lots of water, get lots of sleep, learn to relax.

Sinergy

p.s. I know this because I teach a class where I am heavily adrenalized 1-3 times a week.
