Just thought I'd put my two cents in. It is NOT just sexual. I am a Sun Dancer. For those who don.t know what that is--in ceremony,those of us who choose to, go without food and water for four days during the summer heat. We dance that four days from pre-dawn until sunset under the summer sun. We pierce through our chests, and at the end of the four days throw ourselves backwards until the flesh tears loose. "Sub-space" is acheived, but as someone said it is put away because it interferes with the visions achieved.
