Sorry about the delay. My computer is in pieces right now (harde drive is out) and getting ready to go look for a new one. Anyway....

How about:

White rhinoceros
Blue whale
Kodiak brown bear (or polar bear)
Siberian tiger

Should be fairly easy.

Are they all the largest of their kind?

No, they're all endangered species.

DC got it. The white rhino is the largest rhino, the blue whale is the largest whale, etc. Polar bears are actually larger than the average brown bear, but are just about exactly the same average weight as the Kodiak brown. And the Siberian is the largest tiger.

For Lance, elephants are larger than most of the animals listed, and for Panda the Kodiak is not endangered that I know of.

Here's the ref. re endangered Kodiak bears:

Brown bears are listed as an endangered species in the countries of Bhutan, Mongolia and China.** The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife also lists the brown bear as endangered. Brown bears are considered threatened under the U.S. Endangered Species Act in the lower 48 states. They are not protected in Alaska.

Lance and Sappa are both right. Lance got it first, so he's up next.

Sorry, La Eye, but negative one is rational, and the square root of negative one is imaginary.  2 outta 4 is....... 50 %. LOL!

When squared they are all "real".

They can all be expressed as complex numbers of the style a + bi.
Only the square root of -1 has a coefficient of b not equal to zero.  The other numbers will have a b equal to zero.
