Thanks - gave me time to make up this relatively weak one:

Salsa Mahonesa
Insalta Nizzarda
Gallettes Briton
Marmite Dieppoise

Not unless Peruvians are accustom to eating the indigineous rodents prepared in a foreign (to them) manner.

P.S.  I thought EVERYONE had Google handy

Peruvians eat CUY - that would be guinea pig for those who don't speak Quechua.  And it is delicious!

I will say the one sounds like salsa for salchypappa (an actual Peruvian dish).

No, only one is a sauce.

Snotty french names for comfort food?   Closest yet.  Yes, they are all French dishes/sauces but that's not the commonality.  Something more specific.  And many other dishes/sauces could be on the list.

Peruvian?  Not at all.... mnotter was trying to thread-jack. LOL!

Nope.  The commonality has nothing to do with ingredients.

We have (in order)

A Sauce
A Salad
A Pancake
A Fish stew (similar to bouillabaisse)

edited for spelling

Dayum...20 years of a cooking career down the tube.

All dishes are commonly found in one specific province of France?

Hmmm... I thought the second was the dressing for the salad.  Thank you for clearing that up Lance....

Are they foods that originated in other areas that are now considered French specific dishes?
