Hiltie, I feel I simply must apologise for not thinking of Ida first... but Yedi has it.

Ivan Dixon as well!  Best known for Hogan's Heros so we almost have a quartet that works either way.   That is, what do these four shows have in common?  Answer: Three people (maybe there is a fourth.)  The the next quartet would be what do these 4 (so far just three) people have in common?  Namely the 4 shows.

LOL!

oh well, at least I got to venerate Ida (THE FUCKING GODDESSSSSS!) first, even if not in a quartet.

Spirit of the Law vs. Letter of the law....  Ida was ALL about that, and her BRILIANT film (against all odds of being completed) about what an unwed mother goes through in 1950's USA STILL stands up in this day and age...

i LOVE the Ida.

so, okay, Yedi,it's YOUR turn!

(please choose pop culture or media or literature!  PLEASE.....)

Exactly! Specifically, famous 20th century poets typically using just their initials: e.e. cummings, T.S. Eliot, W.H. Auden, W.B. Yeats.

Well done, fluffy. You're up!

W.A.G. = Brands of Saki

Lance, you really shouldn't make WAGs without a quartet in hand

Ah, so, the pet of fluff...... after reading of each, it is clear to this humble servant, NOT!  well, maybe servant of the game LOL!

Ah, so, the pet of fluff...... after reading of each, it becomes clear to even the lowliest of minds that you have puzzled us with types of knives as created by the Country of the Rising Sun.

At this time, I have acquired for the pleasure of my fellow players on this most esteemed thread in all of the great forums as given to us by the Moderator known as XI, a lowly, humble quartet concerning the Presidents of the United States which might then be included in the wins of the well-known player, DCnovice.  (But I really don't think so.... Bwaaahaaaahaaaaa.)

The answer to the full quartet is NOT "Presidents" (although true)

Hayes
Lincoln
Washington
Cleveland

I don't think there's many more (if any) to be added to the list.  And, pretty sure 'tis google-proof.  And I really doubt DC will get it (even if he is located in DC) unless I give more clues than y'all have so far.
