A Siren Song?

Not sure because of the watch.

I think its simpler. Switzerland.

A watch, a chalet/castle.

Miles last gig was in Montreux, Switzerland.

That is the Toll Castle on the Rhine in Germany.  Is "Toll" the answer? .

That watch might be a Oris Miles.

Of course I could be sadistically leading you astray.

First of all, the flag on the castle is Swiss.  The castle is Chillon, near Montreux, Switzerland.
---------------------------------------------------------------
E-Wood: Thanks for the "clue" about Miles Davis having his last performance in Montreux.  Too bad 'tis not true.  Close, but this snippet says otherwise:

1991 - July 8, Montreux, Switzerland
Miles & Quincy Live at Montreux 1991 (Warner Brothers WPVP-9101; WB 45221)
Miles & Quincy Live at Montreux 1991 (Warner Music Vision 38342-3) [C]

1991 - July 10, Paris, France
Black Devil (Beech Marten 053/2) [C], 123'
Miles Davis and Friends (JVC/Bravo video broadcast)
The Last (TV broadcast), 49'

1991 - August 24, Concord, USA
Concord, CA (PR)

1991 - September 28
Miles Davis dies in Santa Monica, CA
(buried Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, New York, USA)
---------------------------------------------------------------
The other band appears to be a very early band with Freddy Mercury (Mary Austin is the woman sitting on left).  Of course, Freddy Mercury went on to form Queen, which recorded at Montreux Mountain Studios.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The watch is a Parmigiani.  And I quote:

Parmigiani has been involved in the one-of-a-kind event mainly through participation and sponsorship of the renowned Montreux Workshops, called the 'Parmigiani Workshops'. These are special meeting places for the audience and the most famous jazz artists. As one example, the universally-famous blues performer BB King met with his fans at the 'Parmigiani Workshops' and shared some of his musical secrets.
---------------------------------------------------------------

ARRGH!!! No quartet in hand..... why, oh why, do I enjoy this game so much? LOL!

Hi Lance.

Guy at the front looks like Brian May, but the rest look non Queenish to me, unless they are session guys. And May not on a guitar! Or is he? And yes, they recorded in Montreux many times. As for Miles, well I'm no expert at all.

Probably need MM to explain it.

Why isn't it just "Jazz?"

Well, Queen did an album called Jazz.

Chillon Castle? Chillin' to jazz?

I'm not gonna stretch it with the watch.

The castle is in Montreux = Montreux Jazz Fest
The second pic, the band with Freddy Mercury is performing at the Montreux Jazz Fest
Miles Davis performed Jazz
The watch, the Parmigiani, has sponsored the Montreux Jazz workshops

i see Jazz as the theme.

Would not have figured it out without Lance, IF i am right.

Well, Freddy's not performing much of anything these days, but mostly that sounds right. Tim will know for sure.

I'm glad I could organize you guys into some kind of effort to get this done.

Next!

OK...good work everybody!

This is close enough to award, and I think overall it goes to EbonyWood. Here's what's what:

pic 1 -- the Montreux watch
pic 2 -- Barbara Higbie, Darol Anger, Mike Marshall, Michael Manring, with Todd Phillips and Andy Narell--performing as "Montreux."
pic 3 -- Miles Davis at the Montreux Jazz Festival
pic 4 -- Castle at Montreux, Switzerland.

So the answer is--Montreux.

Your turn, Ebony.

Well, "Imperial absolutism" is mentioned in all their bios.

But what you are probably looking for is that each ruled over their respective kingdoms/empires for the longest time.

That is, Louis XIV ruled France longer than anyone else; Queen Victoria ruled over the British Empire longer than anyone else, etc.

ETA:

On 5th March 2008 Queen Elizabeth II became the 3rd longest reigning monarch in over 1,200 years of British History .

She will have to reign until 2012 to reign longer than George III, 59 years from 1760-1820.

On 9th Sept 2015 she will be 89 years old to better her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria who reigned for 63 years and 216 days from 1837-1901.
