To some of us that are registered, it does mean a lot and to some it doesn't. I have a number on there and have for almost a year. This came about before Master and it's been the same all along. I kept it and when he collared me, he registered as my owner. To me now, it only means that if someone sees my reg. number someplace, they can go and look and see I belong to Him, that's pretty much it. I wouldn't get it tattooed, but I know some that do. I don't see anything wrong with it, and like most things in this life, it only means what the person puts into it.

I had already googled the site but the print was so small i had to paste it into word to be able to read it. It all sounds good and well, although it didn't surprise me a whole lot to find the idea was conceived by a work of fiction ( i refer to the writings of S.M. Stirling as it was listed as a basis for the registry.)

After reading the history in it's entirety, it's my opinion that this one statement pretty much sums things up
" The Register, on the other hand, was about external validation, and was one of several different ideas for this which were floating around at the time. "

Well...I'm all for puncturing the balloons of pomposity that abound in the bdsm world, even when I'm guilty of it myself. We are all of us judgmental, though, no matter how much we might believe otherwise. I have no problem with it, either. It's when people try to influence what other people can and can't do because of their judgments that I have a problem. I might think it's a bit over the edge because someone else has sex with a coconut. I might even say so. Perhaps I'd go so far as to point and laugh. but I wouldn't try to prevent them from doing it. If everyone else drew the line there, the world would be a happier place. As for happiness in the lifestyle, I was happy with it before it turned into a "lifestyle", I'm happy now despite all the silly nonsense, and people can choose to be happy with me or not, but I call em like I see em. Thanks for the welcome. :)
