julietsierra -> Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (12/22/2006 7:29:24 AM)

So, yesterday, on the way home from work, I was listening to a radio program called The Michael Baisden Show. Typically, he combines old school R&B, matchmaking and kind of a dear abbey format - with people calling in on specific relationship and sexual topics of the day. His show is in many cities across the country.

Anyway, yesterday's topic was something called laser vaginal rejuvenation. According to his guests - gynechologists who perform this procedure out of Los Angeles - laser vaginal rejuvenation "will effectively enhance the vaginal muscle tone, strength, and control. It will effectively decrease the internal and external vaginal diameters as well as build up and strengthen the perineal body (the area immediately outside the vagina and above the anus). Sexual gratification for the female is directly related to the amount of frictional forces generated. We can accomplish this with LVR®." (as stated on his website http://drmatlock.com/)

I was intrigued. When I got home, I did some research on this and discovered that there was a place here in Michigan that does the same thing. Further research found that the very general cost was around 9 grand AND that laser vaginal rejuvenation can also stop issues of incontinence that many women experience as they get older after having children.

Many of the sites, both for and against this procedure maintained that doing kegels, at some point, is just not enough, and rather than having more radical procedures, that this might be a consideration. Recovery time, as stated on every site I looked into for this procedure was 5-7 days off work and no sex for 6 weeks.

Some of the sites also gave indication that if a medical problem was part of the process (incontinence would work), that SOME insurances might pick up some of the costs associated with this procedure. Other than that, this would be considered strictly cosmetic surgery - with the added benefit of aiding sexual pleasure.

So, what I'm asking is in this day and age of breast reductions, augmentations, liposuction, and other surgical body modifications - would you consider this process?

Well thats interesting.
This is a bit off the topic but it sounds similiar to a procedure I had to stop My periods, Endometrial Alblation. Its a D&C then they cauterize the uterine lining with a balloon filled with circulating hot water. It was done under anthesia in a hospital as a day surgery.
The after effects were some cramping and discharge. So far I am happy with the results.
This is a procedure that is for Women who are done having kids.

I personally have no reason at this point in my life to consider such an action.

But I can think of many legitimate reasons why a person would.

Wonder if they do the combo deal?  With every lazer vaginal rejuvination receive 3 free anal bleachings [8|]

I can understand it if it's for actual medical reasons, but really, for the average person try a little excercise and do some kegals.

But then again I'm not really big on the idea that surgery or medical procedures should be done just for the hell of it.

Taken from LA's post:

for the ugly pussies out there

This article talks about ugly pussies and how a pretty pussy should look..yadda yadda yadda.

I work in the operating room...I see tons of pussies every year. I can honestly say, only 1 out of about 30 pussies would be considered  pretty according to that article. So that means the rest of us are all deformed and ugly!
Well..isn't that ten kinds of special????!!!???

SweetBobbie -> RE: Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (12/23/2006 9:44:25 AM)

As a practicing gyneologist i have seen thousands of pussies, up close and personal and would call not one in a thousand ugly!  Most of tnose were deformed by accident or surgery.  All ussies are lovely!  Some of their owners culd use hygeine lessons but the ;pussies were still lovely,[:)] just messy.[;)]

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (12/23/2006 10:13:14 AM)

Bobbie how many w*omen don't bother to wash their genitals before coming in?

I always wash up if I can before going to the gyno. I am much more secure that way. and I know I don't smell like week old pussy that way lol.

Having worked at an Ob/Gyn office, I can tell you that ALOT of women don't seem to think washing before coming in is necessary. We went through lots of air freshener!

Juliet....As  mother of 6 unmentionables i had parts of my nether regions break  and my innards becasme outards...i had what is calleda rectocele and a cystocle...baslically 2 hernias one in the anterior part and the other int he posterior part of the vagina...so basically i had 2 hernia repairs...i will tell you I had 2 c sections...a gallbladder removal..an appendectomy 4 natural vaginal deliveries...and a double mastectomy  and then reconstruction.....I will tell you that the vaginal rejuvanation HURTS  and not in a good way....and well the other thing that usually isnt discussed is that you then have scar tissue there right where the G spot is....

and in my case my vaginal angle is off...and well as much as the men folk may enjoy it   Im vaginally tighter  than a 15 year old virgin!   I have an ongoign problem with initiating intercourse...if i go long periods of time without iintercourse tings tighten way back up agan and it takesa few months ti loosen up a bit.....If i didnt have the medical problems that id did i wouldnt have had the problems....and honestly if i had it to do again i would have opted to have part of the repair doen from above (abdominally) rather than  from below(vaginally)  but that is juts my opinion.....
As my Nanna used to say...if it isnt broken...dont fix it!

Sadly mistoferin is correct but i also spent abut 10 years providng gynecologic services to a local women's prison including all intake physicals.  i have seen more than the average gynecologist even. [8|]LOL.  and still i say all ;pussies are beautiful though some are more beautiful than others.[:)]

I always wash up down there before seeing the doctor. If I didn't have time to do it before getting there, I take the time alone in the exam room and wipe off with a moist towelette or tissue.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (12/25/2006 1:04:32 AM)

As that's a good idea.  I personally can smell my own scent when I am strong like after sex or all day, so if I can smell it I KNOW others like the dr will to lol. not something I want to be more prominant than it's already gonna be. lol.

Course I just realised it probably sounds like I stink really badly or somehting which I don't, I'm just sensitive to scents of most kinds and I can smell my own scent

julietsierra -> RE: Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (12/25/2006 5:56:46 AM)

Well, to get out of that bad stink thing...I can tell you, both as a dedicated kegal-er AND a woman who had three babies all over 9 lbs - the last one being over 10 lbs...there is only so much a dedicated kegaler can do.

I was beginning to have to look at some more extreme options in my life till I heard about laser vaginal rejuvenation. I am both relieved and thrilled by the possibilities. Admittedly, it's going to take a hell of a lot more research, but if I can laugh, sneeze, cough, again without the abject fear of urinary accidents happening AND have a more enjoyable sex life, I sure as hell am going to be finding a way to do this.

And believe me, stand up in front of a group people one day when you have to sneeze, and you'll know the true meaning of fear.

if you have medical issues such as stress incontinance or the like  it should be covered by insurance  my renovations were...

hisannabelle -> RE: Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (12/26/2006 11:18:59 PM)

i wouldn't have this done at this point in my life. i've had plastic surgery once, to repair my face after a dog attack (it was completely mangled), and i can really only see myself ever doing something like that again because of a health problem. i would consider having a breast reduction because of the size/weight of my breasts and their exacerbation of my current chronic pain problems. if ever i had incontinence, then i might consider the lvr. but i wouldn't have it just because, even if i could afford it, and i doubt i would ever have any other type of cosmetic surgery just because.
