Just a quick question- Last night, my Dom had me play with a female friend of his- it was a reward for me, and one I enjoyed a lot- except for one small complication. I got a scratch on my inner labia, right near the vaginal opening from her fingernail- it's about an inch long, running parallel to my body. Needless to say, it really hurt to go to the bathroom this morning. There is some swelling, and a lot of discomfort, but no blood from what I can tell- I can't see if the skin is actually broken or not. Do I need to see a doctor, or should I just let it heal? Has anyone else had this happen- and if so, what did you do about it? Do I need to wait before I play again, or should I be fine and just not worry about it? Any advise is helpful, and thanks in advance. behindmirrors.

I've had lots of tears and scratches. They tend to be uncomfortable for a day or two but usually heal very quickly. Make sure the area is cleaned well. Sometimes I use just a touch of neosporin ointment...it kind of protects the scratch when urinating. I would keep a close watch on it and if it worsens surely you may wish to have it looked at. Personally, I would give it a few days but that's just me and it's hard to tell you what would be right for you. Oh yeah....and soaks in the tub seem to help alleviate the discomfort some. Kind of like sitz baths after childbirth.

I have had similar experiences when a jagged nail has injured my skin. I used an antibiotic cream and requested to not play until it had healed. Happens sometimes with shaving as well with a nick. I tend to want the area healed so that it is not further damaged. Arnica cream helps healing occur a bit faster as well as aloa vera at least for me.

Thank you both for your replies- this is the first time I have gotten a scratch from this sort of thing, but, then again, it's also the first time I have been with a somewhat aggressive female partner, too. I'm going to go grab that Neosporin now...and dig out the arnica. Thanks again- behindmirrors.

Echoing the others. Have gotten scratches. A bath with Epsom salt, antibacterial ointment, aloe, and using ice to cool it has helped. It usually doensn't take long to heal. If it swells and pusses and looks infected, go to the doctor.

Yup on all counts. I had a scratch when my last unmentionable was born. It was more painful than anything about the birthing process because it was constant and always irritating. It took a couple of days but then it was fine. That area tends to heal quickly.

First off I would of made sure none of her nails were sharp, torn, or had hangnails before play. I am a stickler about nails even and expesially my own not being sharp or torn in anyway.

use Neosporin and keep an eye on it, it should heal without any problems..but if there is any signs of infection please make sure to see a doctor..

They were not torn or with hangnails- and didn't seem sharp until applied with pressure to sensitive parts- maybe next time, I'll check better! I think I just developed a very strong preference for short, rounded, smooth, well kept nails- well, the last two were always a preference, but that short part is something I will from now on appreciate! Like you, I'm that way about mine, though I keep them short out of necessity for playing insturments. behindmirrors.

Thanks to everyone for the advise- and I assure you, I would be in the doctor's office first thing if I notice any complications- I'm very careful about health-related stuff. I have put some Neosporin on it, and now am contemplating taking some Advil...because egads, I am sore! behindmirrors.

Hehe, in addition to dittoing what they said, I love that this is the kinda crowd who knows how to deal with genital scratches and injuries proficiently :)

There's also a topical product called nupercainal (sp??) that has a little numbing agent in it that's designed to spray on the tears you get in childbirth lol or if you have hemmroids causing you discomfort. It's avialable in your local drug store & well worth getting. It takes the sting right out sort of like Bactine does on a cut elsewhere. Good luck to you, suzanne

I'm gonna go look it up, and hope that my drugstore does in fact carry it. Because this ice pack is just making me cold! (Swelling is the best, really...) Thanks again for the replys- behindmirrors.

I would have to belive that oragel or oil of cloves or any benzocaine product would do so as well.

oragel is a excellent idea when i had some whazoo surgery I had used that when the doctor would listen to me when i was tellinghim look i dont need morphine i need novacaine!!! its just my WHAZOO HERE there is dibucaine but that is a prescrption in NY anyhowbut pretty much anything that has a caine in it...is a numby kinda thing!!!! and if you could put it on your mouth or on your face you can most definately pu tit on your gentler parts!!! I also use Witch hazel but I must warn you it stills at first but it cleans out the area so that "stuff' doesnt cause the stinging...just figured I would put my 3 cents in there hope your whatzit if feeling better little red

Well there you go, any one still involved in the shopping hell that is christmas, these would be some pretty useful stocking stuffers, way better than drndls. Take a hint from Mistoferin. Ron

greetings ladies i must tell you the nails of anyone are the worse place that harbor germs this is why you never see a nurse nor a female doctor with long nails this is something not to take lightly. the nail just hold germs righ under the nail bed and always under that nail and if you do not brush that hand with soap nd water hot water you are looking at a very bad infection. i had just gotten my sleep apena machine it is for air pressure and i made one mistake i did not clean my face very well and on no time i had an infection so bad if i had live in 18 even 19 century i would had die, what it did was instead of being on the top of my skin it live under my skin the pain was so bad i thougth i would go nuts i went to three doctor my skin turn three colors bright red then a dark purple then black as night it too not evn a week for it to grow but it took six to seven moths to heal then i had to had plastic surgery. i had to wait 6 months then i had the sugery i cried when i saw my face back to what it had been. it is a cautionary tale a cut or anything of opening to the skin is so dangerous and when it is a moist area it is even worst i would not play with someone with nails so long they make cut no i just know i had a horrible time with my face i had to wear a hat and sunglasses it look so bad and you know how people can be so mean and just look i now make sure my face has not cut or ance that could turn to something so bad so please be careful i learn the hard way i hope you do not mind my story take care all of you mons

Mons good cautionary tail there... Skin infections are sucky...when i worked at the hospital..I used to bug the doctors I used to carry Purell in my pocket and hand it to any doctor that was noted for non washing hands that work on any of MY patients,,,you wouldnt believe just how easily staph is spread...we had an outbreak and they scanned everything and everyone...and it seemed to be everywhere...I am sure glad that i no longer have to take my shoes off before i get into my car and put my shoes into a plastic box...a trip my nursing professor taught me....alwasy take your shoes off at store em...never bring them into your house.. well just words of advice for the new year...when in doubt through it out....when you cant remember whent he last time you cleaned something clean it...if it cant be cleaned...then do not use it! safe playing out there
