Some people take down there tree and decorations the day after Christmas. Others wait untill after New Years. Then you have people who may wait untill Febuary and even March before they put away there Christmas Tree. If you have a Christmas Tree, when does it come down?

I tend to leave mine up til my friends and family start giving me weird looks <grin>  Of course, I can do that because now I have a fiberoptic tree; when I had a real tree, I had to take it down when the needles got brown and it was a fire hazard, and I HATED that part... throwing away the beautiful tree that had served me so well!  I always cried as I walked away from it.  Then if the trash or tree-recycle guys (depending on where I lived) didn't come right away, I'd stand at my window and watch it and feel bad.  I miss having a fresh tree, but I'm glad those after-Christmas-taking-the-tree-down days are over, and I adoooooooooore my beautiful fiberoptic!

When I have lived in my own space or had the predominant responsibility for my home environment..my christmas decorations were usually put up and locked away by noon Dec 26th. It is making me crazy that my housemates (who are the house owners) want to keep their stuff up until after New Years..

But thats my issue..Im dealing

Keep your Christmas tree up until you start experiencing bad luck is my advice. With any luck you won’t have to bother putting it up again next year.

Also consider this….

If you work in a garden centre that sells Christmas trees all year round is this a good place to work or not? I’m thinking loads of people must get injured or killed across the world in garden centres due to their blatant disregard of Christmas superstition.

I never put one up to begin with. I live by myself so I don't really see the point to it. I know others say that I should do it for myself, but I think it is so much rewarding to do things for others.

A blow up Christmas tree? I think you missed the point. I don't not put up a Christmas tree because it is difficult to put up or down. I don't do it because I have no one to enjoy it with.

Having no one to enjoy it with usually means buying something you blow up.

I can’t loose with this idea, you can’t talk me out of it keith.

I take mine down the day after new years... it is a tradition of sorts, and I used to make it a party kinda thing with treats and all.

My stuff came down yesterday, except the outside lights. The ol' man was really pouting about me putting everything up so I'm leaving those up another day or 2.

It's funny: I'm exactly the opposite. Liturgically, Christmas Eve is the *start* of the season, and it drives me berserk that merchants et al. rush us into "Christmas" while kids are still trick-or-treating. Results: (a) Advent, a lovely, contemplative season in its own right, gets completely lost and (b) everyone's sick of Christmas by the time it finally arrives. So I'm keeping the decorations up till Epiphany (January 6th).

The kitten has already done an excellent job of pulling all the decorations off the bottom half and has even removed a few branches (artificial tree).  I always leave it up until after New Years Day.
