hmm, i might have to try that "coochy cream" stuff. i'm rather tired of shaving as well...having very coarse hair, not to mention extremely dry, extremely sensitive skin (mostly due to eczema), AND having very fat/puffy outer labia, it takes me a loooooong time to shave to babysmooth. it's also very painful, and dang near impossible to nick myself at least 3 or 4 times in the process. but eh, it's what Master likes, so a slave's gotta do what a slave's gotta do.
i use gilette shave gel...either for men or women, doesn't matter, and shave with a mach III or mach III turbo men's razor. it's what works best for me by far. for some reason all the fancy women's razors out there have so much extra padding and moisturizer and dodads on them that they make a close or comfortable shave impossible for me. but even with the mach III, i need to use a brand new blade every time i shave, which gets pretty expensive. but considering my hair type and how long it takes for me to shave (between 30 and 40 minutes), it's easy to understand how i can wear out a blade quickly.
oh and also, i don't shave in the shower...just impossible. i shave standing at the bathroom sink, with one leg propped up in the sink basin. this way i can see every square centimenter of skin and hair.

it's strange, but a quick swipe of iodine (NOT alchohol - ouchie!) across that entire area before you hop in the shower makes the re-growth less troublesome.

a couple of laser hair treatments in the area will reduce the amount growing back, esp if you have a lot of hair. you don't have to commit to a lifetime of being brazilian, but one or two treatments will zap enough follicles to stem the growth. it hurts like hell, but it really works.

I use a new blade every time too. I shave in the shower though, with the coochy cream (although I suspect a thick hair conditioner might also work just as well) - the added wetness from the warm water feels soothing. After, when I finish off/touch up with a Norelco electric, it's sitting on the floor, spread open in front of a mirror. I'm with you - every crevice must be tended to.

It may seem starnge for a man to offer shaving advise to women but: Don't use a new razor every time. Razor blades have a corrosion inhibiting coating that must be worn off. Also it is not the hair that actually dulls the blade but the water, more perciecely the corrsion started by the presence of water and oxygen. Blow out the water (from the back) and dry your blade off on your towl every time you are done using it. I have thick facial hair and I am able to get my blades to last for two month or more. I shave in the shower without a mirror and rarely ever nick myself. If I do it is with a new blade. Also If I ever run out of shaving gel I use shampoo over soap-less irritating. You may also want to try and message the stubble to remove the oils, moisten the hair and get it to stand up more. The shaving foam brushes that barbers use to used served that purpose.

Oooh I was reading this thread and I thought I should mention something that my gynecologist told me. She said that shaving your entire pubic area can cause you to get more yeast infections. I haven't done research into this, but I thought I would pass it along in case any one else wanted to.

that answers my question of why sometimes an old blade works better than a new one. I thought I was just going crazy.

Does anybody else notice that if you only shave downward (towards your ass) that the pubic mound gets stubbly but anything below gets completely smooth? I used to shave up but got ingrown hairs on the pubic mound and stubbly below it... Now I only shave downward and the pubic mound area stays slightly stubbly but everything else gets super smooth. Is it just me?

I just could not help not chimming in on this subject, shaving has been the bain of my exisitence since I was about 10 years old. I am 1/2 italian and 1/2 greek, and to say that I have more hair than one should would be an understatement and it is very corse too. My Master has never demanded that I shave or not shave therefore, I am lucky in that aspect. I find that if I "keep the plate"(clit down) clean shaven, I can shave that part daily with no ill effect, on the other hand, the mound and my legs only get shaved once a week. I have used and tried every product there is on the market, and for me the intuition razor works the best for me. I always take a long hot bath, then shave and my Master just loves the viewing of the process. I have found that it is much easier for me to slip to sub space when just shaved. I do not know what it is, but being clean shaven really boosts my ego which allows me to fall deeper and deeper into my Master's voice and command. Try the intuition razor, and believe it or not even though the head of the razor appears to large in size, you will find it very difficult to cut or nick yourself in those most important areas. Hope this helps.

you haven't had any problems using the electric razor in that area? i got a fancy one a few years ago, but Daddy's afraid to let me use it, with my penchant for being clumsy and accident prone. so now he uses it for his beard lol. i do my touching up, if i need it, with a cheap disposable bic (sensitive). the single blade picks up the shortest stubble. oh and although i shave over the sink, my skin is always soaking wet before i shave...otherwise...ouch! the hair conditioner thing doesn't really work, clogs up the razor too easily.

Mine's a standard Norelco men's electric shaver. I did have problems at first because in my zeal to get every little bit, I would push down too hard and end up bloodying myself and becoming very sore and red. But I learned if I just glide over myself lightly in small circular motions, it works quite well, although a bit time consuming. I sit and hold my skin very taut, which also helps. Exfoliating also helps prevent ingrowns.

ALWAYS shave in the direction the hair grows, not in the other direction. Start closest to your thighs and shave INWARD only. No bumps, no razor burns, nada. Spread your lips to shave close to your clit. Works even for a "baldie." Be careful as any perfume/chemical moisturizer can cause irritation or infection. Use 100% pure olive oil. I promise you won't smell like a salad !!!!!!!!!!!

If I shave with the hair growth I end up super stubbly :(

How come 'they' can come up with Viagra, but not a lil pill to stop hair growth everywhere but the head??

I use the Venus triple blade, it works well for me. Then afterward, I use either baby lotion or oil and that stops ingrown hairs in their tracks. I might have one every once in a while, but hardly ever.

I hate shaving also, but if I do it every other day..then use the oil, it stays smooth longer and doesn't have the stubble quite as easily.

And you don't get ingrown hairs?

i get a couple on occasion, but always in the exact same spot. that's not a big deal to me since i know how to remove them easily if they do pop up.

Not sure how the community will respond to a male reply to this thread, but as someone who has been shaving daily for 32 years, including the top of my head for the past two and previously my genitals as well, I feel I can speak intelligently on the subject and provide some insights. First off, I shave with a straight razor, and in comparison to the multi-blades and electrics I have tried over the years it provides a superior shave, though it does take some time to master the techniques involved. But the keys I have found to the whole shaving process are the preparation of the area to be shaved, the direction in which you shave and the order of your strokes, and aftercare. A good shaving soap is paramount to your success, and my personal choice has been Brave Shave from Brave Soldier products, along with their after shaving products. Apply it (or your product of choice) with a good badger hair shaving brush which lifts the hairs and provides some conditioning of both hairs and skin, and let it set for a minute or two before you start shaving. The first stroke in an area should be in the direction the hair grows, so for me that was belly button down for hair above the scrotum, and from perineum up for the hairs below. After reapplying the shaving soap the next strokes are across the direction of hair growth, and for me I always considered it safer to go from the center out toward the thighs. After soaping again the final strokes are against the direction of hair growth, the opposite of the first strokes. This is exactly how an old fashioned barber provided a facial shave, and it works. Finish by rinsing the area with warm water or applying a warm, moist towel, and then apply your aftercard product of choice. When I was remaining bare for my Domme some year ago a well executed shave would keep me smooth for 3 - 4 days
