I think my skin has something against jelly, because I barely even inserted it and immediatly started burning, and badly.

It may be the lube you're using, if any... I thought for years I had problems with latex because of similar issues with condoms.. but it turned out to be the lubrication they used in them.  Water based lubes are not my friend, lol.

i've had the same problem with a few of my jelly toys.  It's only happened twice and it's been with ones that are older and the material on them seemed to have broken down some.

Are the ones that you're having issue with new or old toys?  Is the material breaking down or "melting" at all?

Feline, don't you remember BeachMystress giving us advice on jelly toys a year or two ago???   I went to an Anal play class and they also said that while jelly toys are fun for their pliability, they do disintegrate after about 6-9months generally, which I suspect is the reason you're getting the burning sensatation.

It sounds like it's because it's an older toy then.  Unfortunately, you're probably going to have to toss it and get something new.

I might try condoms on it, to keep the jelly from touching me. my brand new one of less than a month burns me too.

Give up on jelly and get a good silicone toy.  You are likely allergic or sensitive to one of the components.

If it is a colored jelly toy, it could be the dye that they used. I know I bought a new dildo to play with and it smelled horrible right out of the box. I soaked it, cleaned it and tried to use it. Man it burnt like I was on fire and left my delicate skin very red. I tossed it. I've had jelly toys before that didn't bother me, but they were clear this one was purple. Hence why I suspect it was the dye.

Lashra, yes it's dyed pink.

Night those toys are expensive. if a condom works in keeping the jelly from burning me I'll go with that.  they cost to much to throw it away if a condom w*orks.Howeever I got jelly toys on accident. I didn't notice they were jelly when I bought them.

Ok, lol, this is odd. But I have a friend who sells toys, and she recently gave me a care package. Recently enough that I still have some that are in the packages. One of them is a "real feel" jelly and according to the package's fine print it says (among other things)

"Real feel jelly is packaged with a coating to prevent breakdown of materials wash before and after each use with liquid anti-bacterial soap and water, pat dry with a soft cotton towel."

Another package gives this advice:

"To extend the life of your ******* and to prevent the possiable spread of infection always use a condom and a rubber compatible lubricant with this product"

If you arent looking for all the bells and whistles I suggest the glass toys. When I was first introduced to them I admit I was a bit trepidatious but I quickly warmed up to them!

Latex and Silicone do not mix, not only the soft jelly and hard plastic type.  But neither can touch ELASTIC or anything else LATEX.  Bye some nice socks to keep your toys in.  Or make some lil baggies out of fabric!  You will find that if they do come in contact, the softer substance will melt and take shape of the object its against.  Worst scenario is using a Latex Condom on a Silicone Toy!.... If you're condom broke...it's not a fluke!  It melted...UH OH!!  Use Latex Free with all your toys everytime to be safe!

I'm assuming by this statement that you haven't used any "artificial" lube.  Wash the area carefully with a mild soap and water.  If you've inserted it and the burning is intense, you may have to resort to a vinegar and water douche.  If the burning is mainly on the outer area (the vaginal lips and just inside them), try the same cream that you use for the burning and itching related to yeast infections.  It's sold over the counter and if you don't have some on hand, the pharmacies are generally open 24/7.  Hope this helps.  I have one toy myself that cannot be used without a condom.

Thank you,MstrssScarlett. Yes I mean no artifical lube.  It went in just a bare little bit but most the burning was on the outside.

It's a chemical burn.  Jelly toys are full of nasty toxic oozing chemicals that in many countries are illegal to use in toys made for pets or children, so are unsafe for use in sex toys too.  But sex toys are unregulated for safety - US government seems to think that users of sex toys are perverts who deserve what they get.  Safest thing is to throw it away, although technically it should be disposed of as toxic waste, and replace it with a toy made of silicone, glass, acrylic, or metal.  Or you could just always cover it with a condom.  If it doesn't dissolve the condom... Tip:  don't leave a condom on it for more than a few minutes.

Doesn't matter what it cost, if it makes you sick, does it?

This is a quote from womynsware.com web site:

"Phthalates are chemical additives commonly used in manufacturing vinyls and soft plastics. We talk about these compounds elsewhere (see Cyberskin and Crystal Jelly G-Spot discussions above), but we feel the need to single them out for more coverage. Several European countries and Canada have either banned these compounds in certain products (baby toys, pet toys) or recommended that they be banned. However, health regulators have turned a blind eye to the obvious risk of phthalate exposure through adult oral, vaginal and anal contact. This despite the fact that the manufacture of sex toys mirrors that of the child and pet toy industry in general (most notably the cheapest category of toys made in the countries with the lowest safety standards). Fortunately for those savvy to Womyns'Ware Inc.'s sex toy selection policies, you now understand why we can not recommend the jelly rubbers, soft vinyls, and Cyberskin class of products for use.

Some back ground - The soft vinyl study that prompted Health Canada to issue its edict was spearheaded by GreenPeace. This approach was unprecedented for the federal health watch-dog. After much pressure, Health Canada finally capitulated and ran the study, resulting in the forced withdrawal (not voluntary, required by law) of all soft vinyl pet and children's chew toys from the market place in Canada. Products manufactured in China were singled out with respect to the lead content. Other countries of origin showed the other nasty chemicals. We reviewed the study and concluded that if two hours of exposure through the mouth was dangerous enough to prompt the product ban, then exposure through the rectum or vagina should also be considered high risk (sexual products and sexual activity sitting in the grey area of "novelty purposes only" being left unregulated.

Recently, some German toxicologists have gone out and thought about the worse case scenarios. A recent study of jelly dildos and vibrators commissioned by the German magazine Stern, reveals some alarming volatile chemical compositions. Toxicologists conducting the study were very concerned over the “extremely high concentrations of solvents” found in the sex toys, solvents that were sure to be absorbed into the mucous membranes of the body. Off-gassing of Phthalates sufficient to settle in the liver, kidneys and other fatty tissues occurred at up to 100 times the acceptable European standard (1000 ppm is the maximum accepted softener due to the interference with hormonal metabolism caused by Phthalates. Dildos and Vibrators tested had concentrations in the 240,000 ppm range!). Other solvents found in the sex toys included Cyclohexanon, Phenol, and Tetrahydrofurane. These chemicals provoke eye, respiratory, skin, and mucous membrane irritation. Headaches, cramps, and nausea are some of the side effects that result from exposure at the levels found in the study. "

Repeat:  Throw it away and buy silicone toys.

I'd have to second that.  As a bonus, silicone toys are easier to keep clean...boil them, run them through the dishwasher, bake them...but NEVER use silicone-based lubes on them!

LOL people are going to start thinking I have stock in the stuff since I recommend it for lots of sore coochie stuff, but nupercanal spray is a spray that will help wihth the discomfort. Hemmoriod wipes will help with the swelling and irritation too.
Good luck to you & I hope you feel better soon.
