All logic seems to fly out the window with some when they reach what they believe to be their "time to do it all NOW". Sort of reminds me of the rush lots of us had upon reaching majority. We had the age in years, but not the brains to actually acknowledge the dangers. Sundew

Sundew, are you peeking in peoples' windows or what?

Looking down, nope Estring I don't have the equipment to be a peeping Tom [;)]. For a number of years I worked with the age group we are discussing. There were a great many more excuses for the problems that developed. The few I listed were the ones most used. You would be amazed at the conversations I have been involved in with this set. A lot of aging hippies in this group, wide smile, yeah I fit in the bottom end of it also. Sundew

Hi A/all I too am 50 and I havent had sex without a condom since my last marriage broke up ( 1988 ) when I was young I didn't want to get old, but now that I am old, I'm going to get REAL old!! LOL All you hetro ladies; the fact is that a man will last longer wearing a condom too. Even if you are a sub ( the most awesome being in existance ) you are still someone who has the full rights that God gave all of us. Carry condoms and tell them that on this issue it is " MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY " if all would do this it would not be long at all till they were GLAD to put a condom on LOL ( I'm a guy I know about this kind of stuff )[;)] We have arrived at a place where super STD's are mutating and growing. We must stop them from comming into existance. Blissed Be.....Mike

It's kool that everyone is informative of communicable diseases, but really have to back Estring up in that there is little point in panicking about every possible horror one could experience in life...
The Probable reason the elderly are becoming infected is because at some point in one's life (older 50+), one has the right to say "fuck it", I'm going to have fun and death be damned... At least that's my feeling and opinion.

As my being a professional dominant, I get asked to do things all of the time that is an at risk practice by submissive men. From cuckhold, to forced bisexuality to sharing body fluids. I always say no and tell them what they have to look forward to, dease wise. Do you know what the most common age group for these men are....You guessed it Baby Boomers, the 50 and up croud. I don't have sex with me clients, but I do ask if they use condoms. Their reply is, is that if they aren't in need to prevent pregnancy, why use condoms. I have even heard every other excuse in the book. So perhaps the CDC should also look at the submissive vs switch vs. dominant to see their saftey practices in BDSM. They might find some copability problems amoung certain fetishes. I say if you did it, you're responsible for it. You catch the dease, you pay for what you do. The CDC can only try to help. The only way not to catch something is to be careful, honest and not to have too many partners. The more partners, the more risk.

In Africa, the number of women with HIV is beginning to pass up the men, because most of the transmission is heterosexual, and it is much more easily passed to women than men in that way.

I was reading about the problem in Africa, and a lot of it is cultural. There is a belief that having unprotected sex with a virgin female will cure HIV. So female children and infants are often raped by HIV positive men hoping to cure themselves. Technically, it is "heterosexual transmission of HIV" but I would hardly call this unsafe sexual practice "consensual."
