ORIGINAL: seekstofasn8adom I personally blame the media, and the people who make movies. Cause they all seem have to have slim models in them mainly, but when it comes to the real world.Obviously not everyone is a beautyqueen,as the real world is not full of models or slim ladies for that matter. I am a beauty Queen in my size 26 jeans and 24 Top.....Tell me I'm not!!!! This notion puts a terrible pressure on young ladies today i think i must be slim otherwise society won't except me for who i am.And in all honesty thats all nonsense,as being to slim is unhealthy please think of that, please put yourself first not other people's wishes. Slim is not necessarily unhealthy. Slim because of mental and physical misnomers is unhealthy. All ladies try to be a non conformist as opposed to a slim conformist.I'd say so long as you are happy in yourself please don't get brainwashed by the media or so called friends,to be something else that you are not basically. Please don't get brainwashed by this must be slim culture, just be happy be healthy, and eat what you want to and be happy with who you are.As no one is perfect i certainly am not,we all have our little faults no matter how perfect you may think that you are.You must just try your best in life, and to do the best you can in any given situation. But above all please be happy folks,as happy people tend to live longer. My very best wishes to you all from Paul. I am SOOOO comfortable in my own skin its almost amazing. People don't know what to make of us that don't fit into the societal ideal...but thats their problem if they choose walk around in wanderment instead of wonderment. I see a lot of women talking about their dress sizes and yes I did it too, to illustrate or give a mental picture. However, what we don't know about you is your height and your bone structure. I am 6'1 with a large bone structure (I am larger than most men and yes there is such a thing as a large bone structure) and I weigh in at 325lbs. I have boney joints and still cannot wear a woman's watch unless it has a few extra links on it. I have normal heart rate, normal blood pressure and normal blood sugar (the doctors always make sure to take that blood sugar reading) Sure I could wish to be in a size 10 ( I don't) but I don't think I would get the kind of attention I wanted. The attention I would get would be from Doctors and Nurses putting IV's in my arm, examining my psychological health as well as putting me in a hospital to deal with my need to starve myself. I would literally be skin and bones. I am off the charts when it comes to height/weight proportion. When I go to the doctor, they have to look at the large man's chart to proportion me. They say my ideal weight is 170...which would put me in a size 10. I say NAYNO. To say you are a size 10 or 12 really doesn't illustrate anything unless you give us your height and your bone structure measurements. I think we should be happy in the skin we are in, make sure to take care of our health and not worry about what everyone else thinks. Those people that find you attractive based upon what you look like are probably not really worth the time it will take to get to know them. Just My Non-Humble Opinion
