ready2change -> curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/5/2007 5:23:53 PM)

i am new to the lifestyle and have recently heard of cbt device called a "humbler".  i have seen pictures and am very interested in hearing from those with experience with it's use.  is it effective, how painful, creative ways it can be used?  i would appreciate greatly any input from subs or Doms.  thanks.

Hi Ready. I too haven't used a Humbler yet, but looking forward to it, someday. In the meantime, I have used my Spreader Bar, with a line attached to the Metal Ring on the end of my Cock Harness, to the Middle Ring on my Spreader Bar. Now that was very hard to stand up, let alone be able to walk right.

Sincerly, Sub BalletBob

I own a humbler and have used it on a male submissive several times.

The submissive assumes a position on all fours, the humbler is opened and clamped around his testicles and firmly against the back of is thighs. It's clamped shut (careful not to pinch between the two slats) and holds the stretched scrotum and testicles firmly between the slats. The submissive cannot rise or stand....until released from the device he must remain in this "humbled" position.

They're a lot of fun.

If you want to "try" it without making the investment in a humbler, you can do a makeshift one with a little ingenuity.   Get some of the long wood chopsticks you use to cook, or a 2 lengths of dowel.   Drop the boys in between and secure each end of the chopsticks/dowels tightly - strong rubber bands work well.   Voila.  Insta-humbler.

I have worn one, you can stand with an extrememly exagerated position but very uncomfortable. Your best bet is to stay "humbled" on all 4's. Make sure the Dom/me checks regularly for good circulation.

Slave made ours.  He used 1/2 inch dowel rod and covered it with a padded faux leather material.. he then used Velcro strips to fasten it on. I love Velcro.. easy on quick off.  The velor strips used in computer wire management.

It really depends on how much loose skin the gent in question has.  If there's not much...lol...well you're screwed.  If you have a lot, then you are not in nearly such an exaggerated position - even to the point of being able to stand up.

one or 2 of the models you can buy allow more "upright posture" than others. i have worn and also made one.
If you want to make one and have a jig saw handy they arent hard to make.
here are 2 variations i have made.

Irishm57, that second one looks evil!  I'm sure your domme loves it.

Excellent photos and very clever design. Thanks for sharing!

I have reasonable woodworking skills and a Lowes nearby...what size hole did you choose for the c and b in your design?  Is that 3/4" wood stock?

Irishm57 -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/24/2007 2:16:15 PM)

The first ones i made, had a 1.25 inch round hole. But a Domme i made one for complained the hole was too small. Then a 1.5 inch hole was too big.. oh well.

So the final design ended up with an oval looking hole. 1 inch high, and 2.5 inches long. This 1 inch high by 2.5 inch long slot seems to be one of the more perfert all around fits. for most males.

porthuronsub -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/24/2007 2:22:50 PM)

Thanks for the info.  I am going to make one and give it to my Mistress as a present.

Irishm57 -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/24/2007 2:28:21 PM)

oops., the humbler , is half inch red oak and the humbler stocks is 3/4 inch pine.
The reason for 3/4 was mainly so i oculd put a 1/4 inch dowl in the non hinged end so it couldnt twist when closed
after sanding i used a rub on polyuerthane on the final versions

porthuronsub -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/24/2007 4:09:03 PM)

Thanks again,  It looked like 3/4" in the pic but I wasn't sure.  What did you use for the locking end on the humbler?  Is that standard hardware available at the store or something you machined?

Irishm57 -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/25/2007 3:25:39 AM)

The locking mechanism was simple, it is a standard 3 inch door hinge pin with a small hole i drilled in the end for the lock , they come in packs of 2 or 3 at most home depot stores

skysub -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/25/2007 9:28:28 AM)

I purchased a locking humbler from Mr. S a few years ago. It has twisting barrel lock on one end to keep it shut. It also has recessed hidden hinges. One nice feature are the two electrical contacts on either side of the hole. They are bananna jacks that can be hooked-up to most electrical generator boxes, including TENS units.

Unfortunately, I just looked at the Mr. S site and cannot find it listed any longer, though a photo of it is on their electrical toys page.

Have a look at the one on the Hanson site  www.hansonpaddle.com.

That's the humbler I have and it sounds exactly like what you are describing.   What's nice is the new Hanson ones have a choice of hole sizes, which can be useful.

Thank you, know I can order the boy to make his own humbler.

BeachMystress -> RE: curious about the use of a "humbler" (2/26/2007 12:52:23 AM)

You can see examples of my humbler in use on http://beachmystress.femdommesociety.com/dommephotoalbum.php You can purchase a similar humbler from http://stores.ebay.com/Stumpys-Woodworking starting at about $24. I also have photo instructions for making a simple humbler in the photo section of one of my yahoo groups. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Beachs_Dominion/ While I have closed that group to new people, if you put a note in the "why you want to join" box (upon signing up) telling me that you want to see the humbler making photos, I will allow you in. If you neglect to mention the humbler making photos, your request to join will be denied.

By the way, after two years of regular use, my husband is able to almost stand upright in the humbler without any pain. The fun part is making him walk in it.. he looks kinda like a drunk duck! *grins* One of my fav things at dungeons is to make him go fetch drinks while wearing it.
