subsa -> formal dinner D/s style (2/9/2007 12:30:37 PM)

Master has invited (at my suggestion) another couple for a formal Valentine's dinner.  it will be a 6 course affair with the Doms having place settings at the table; the other sub and i will eat only what our respective Masters give us from their plates.  Master and i have dined this way many times but this will be our first time to dine with another couple this way.  i have the menu under control (entertaining is my hobby) but i'd like some ideas that might make the evening more memorable for all of us.

Sometimes, simple is best. Make the food good and be on your best behavior...and make sure Master know you're enjoying being hand-fed.

What about something fancy like cutting veggies into heart shapes or doing heart shaped desserts to tie in the Valentines day?
Or what about wearing something red that's very sexy also to celebrate the holiday.
Nice red roses on the Master's plates would be pretty too.
Pretty much things that depict it's valentines day for your dinner would be fun and appropriate.

Just make sure everyone knows what to expect.

I like the idea of having al ittle bell at the host's plate to ring for service.

Having some matching item of clothing to wear would be fun also for a symbol of unity and station.

I like LA's idea of the bells and similar dressed outfits - for the service events I've organized (and the dinner I have coming up) its a simple white top and black bottom.  I think if you haven't it would be worthwhile to spend a few minutes just talking with the other submissive about what you will need and expect her help with - I remember years ago going to a couples house for something and the submissive was not all to clear on what each of the submissives were supposed to do and it was all last minute (it felt like).  Particularly with six courses you should probably make it clear how she should help you with setting and clearing each course.  Things like music and attention to details (which I'm sure you prolly have a handle on) will also help make it even more memorable.

Master fire:  thanks for the suggestion on letting Him know i enjoy being hand fed.  never thought about it that way before.  the only problem we ever have is sometimes he doesn't give me enough time to chew .
suzanne : yes, i've got the Valentine's theme covered.  the amuse will be canapes cut with heat shapes and i also found a lip shaped cutter to use.  much of the food can be considered an aphrodesiac (sp?).  the other sub is making rosebud boutonniers for the Doms.  dishes are red, white and gold.  as far as clothes go...the other Dom has requested just collars for the both of us.  so my red patent leather boots are out...probably just as well, they make me kind of unsublike anyway....there's just something about them ~ lol.
keep the suggestions coming though...i'm having a lot of fun with this whole thing!

subsa -> RE: formal dinner D/s style (2/9/2007 1:04:38 PM)

the bells are a great idea!  perhaps that can be our 'matching'  item.  of course our bells would be worn and Theirs wouldn't.
i'm working on the shared effort part.  we've e-mailed some ideas back and forth.  i'm doing most of the cooking (since it's at my house...oh...  i mean Master's house) in advance.  the plan is that we'll each serve our Master but i'm asking her to clear for both while i get the next course ready.  she's already offered to come early and help get organized; we can talk specifics then.   so i think we're going to be okay as a service team.

Oh, that's an easy one...he feeds you, then he eats until you ASK for more, formally. Or, if you're little, you pull on his pants leg or sleeve. ;-)

well, i jumped back in the summer, but i haven't landed yet. do you have any idea howlong that will take?

As long as it takes you to learn to fly.

just wanted to thank you all again for your responses.  we incorporated most of your concepts and advice and we all had a great time.  in case you're interested...here's the details...
we combined the idea of the call bell and Dom-sub coordinating attire. at the beginning of the evening the Doms received a small red box with their bells and a matching clip with a bell attached for the sub to wear (we made them).  the whole thing lasted about 5 hours but we moved around ( dining room; patio, living room) and the clips seemed to change locations on our body as often as we changed rooms.   of course there had to be time to cook between courses.  but things ran pretty smoothly for a 7 course meal.  changing rooms really helped alot as it let us set the room and clear up afterwards more unobtrusivly.  the other sub and i didn't have any trouble working together (we actually had a lot of fun).  i think that's because i took your advice and we had already communicated expectations and duties.

on theD/s level it was a real charge for me.  i didn't feed myself for a whole day.  its funny how much control you lose that you ordinarily don't think about.  i've never really considered the fact that i usually take a bite of bread after eating something that's heavily sauced.  evidentally that's not the way my Master eats and i only ate what he offered for the most part. so sometimes it was a little frustrating...but in a good way as it reminded me of my place.   i did ask for somethings (meat, meat, meat).  the other couple tried some variations where she fed him.  that was also hot... to see how he still controlled even though she held the fork.  the whole bell thing was great on so many levels.  the presentation of the set; the sound of the first insistant ring (from the Dom) followed by the softer jingling as the sub came running; moving the position of our clips...sigh.

all in all we had a very pleasant evening and we've already talked about doing it again...i can't wait!

subsa is very humble in describing just how much work she put into this event.  i am the lucky friend who got to partake of her gracious hosting and the dinner was magnificient!  Sir and i had such a wonderful time.  Their home is beautiful and very warm and welcoming.  The dinner was incredible and the whole experience is one we will alway remember.  i learned a lot from her and we would MOST assuredly accept any invitation to do it again.  i can still hear Sirs tummy happily purring!  i would like to publically thank you subsa and your Master, again, for the entire experience.  it truly was such a lovely time for both of us.

There was a dinner like that at the LA Kink Ball last Saturday night. It went very well.

What an excellent uplifting thread!

Is Meat, Meat, Meat! the formal dinner dirty talk?

azzmaster -> RE: formal dinner D/s style (2/20/2007 6:58:39 PM)

went to sumthin like dat in NYC one year. there was a server n all doms had a sub on a leash at their feet, everyone wearin black, subs all fed off the masters plate and there was some random sex n flogging as entertainment. was great. i always wanted to have some kinda roman orgy scene

MasterNdorei -> RE: formal dinner D/s style (2/20/2007 7:48:40 PM)

i used to belong to a group that practiced French Parade Service. All the subs were dressed the same, and every move they made was done in a synchronized movement, almost like choreographed dinning. It was alot of work, but an amazing experience.

Congradulations on your wonderful dinner. i am sure the Ones you served were greatly honored with your hard work.
