Thank you all for the well wishes! I do have some books I'd like to reread and decided to order The Five Languages of Love after seeing it recommended here by Master Fire Ma'am a few times.

I had a rough night last night. One thing is certain, my bladder seems to be working fine.

They did the bladder sling and I'm supposed to be retraining my bladder, but I think it's working fine. Going to the potty every few hours isn't a big deal except that getting in and out of bed is a major ordeal. Move the wrong way and OUCH. Try to move another way and create another OUCH.

I feel like one big walking OUCHY.

I know it takes time to heal and get back to feeling well, but I'm not overly patient about such things. *sigh*

I didn't see this thread until today, so I didn't get a chance to wish you "good luck". I'm glad you are recovering well at this point. Rest when you need to, definitely be aware of the no-lifting ban. Take whatever time you need to get better.

I had a hysterectomy this past August, also due to fibroids. Now, six months later, all is good and my sex drive is stronger than it has been in years. Sex is better. All four weeks of the month are better. The scar is occasionally itchy but not a problem. Best thing that coulda happened to me.

You made me giggle when you mentioned having to stay longer until you passed gas. I had the same problem, and one of the nurses mentioned that it would help to move more. So there I was, walking/shuffling up and down the hallway so frequently that the whole unit knew what was going on. What could be more fun than having a stranger walk past you and ask "did ya fart yet?".
