I need some advice on genital warts. My wife found some on my testicles. Of course I am going to the doctor. Should I consider discontinuing using a mistress on the side?. Is it safe to continue playing with genital warts?. Are they cured or am I doomed for the rest of my life.?

You need to inform your mistress of her exposure to the HPV virus.
The virus is linked to cervical cancer in women.  Both your wife and
your mistress need to have a gynocoligical exam and most importantly,
pap smears for abnormal cells on their respective cervixes.

Do not have any sexual contact with anyone until treated and cleared
by your doctor, and yes, the warts can still be spread throughout your
lifetime because HPV is a virus, it cannot be removed from your body
by antibiotics or other measures.  The virus is most contagious when the warts
are present, but can also be spread to a partner even when the warts
are not visible, as the virus remains under the skin.  So condoms are
definately a must in your future, as is the obligation to inform all current
and potential future partners.

The warts themselves will be either burned off with acid or frozen off by cryo.
Plan in taking a day off from work when you are treated and have some
Tylenol, aspirin or Advil available.

The strains of HPV that cuase warts are not the ones that cause cervical cancer.
Warts may be caused by other things than HPV
See a doctor- refrain for any gentital contact until you do

Until a doctor can test him, he does not know which type or
types he may have.

"HPV types 16, 18, 31, 33, and 35 are found occasionally in visible genital warts and have been associated with external genital (i.e., vulvar, penile, and anal) squamous intraepithelial neoplasia (i.e., squamous cell carcinoma in situ, bowenoid papulosis, Erythroplasia of Queyrat, or Bowen’s disease of the genitalia). These HPV types also have been associated with vaginal, anal, and CIN and anogenital and some head and neck squamous cell carcinomas. Patients who have visible genital warts are frequently infected simultaneously with multiple HPV types."

Condoms may help but keep in mind that HPV is transmitted by skin contact not fluids, so they may not prevent its transmission.

Actually, men cannot be tested to see what "type" they have.  He knows he has one kind because of the warts, however, there is no test for men to see if they have the kind that causes cancer.

All the commercials for women to get pap smears mention HPV causes cervical cancer & they've developed a immunization shot to keep women from getting HPV because it does indeed cause cervical cancer.
If you google HPV you'll see your statement is incorrect.

Sheesh.

Let me restate:

not all 'warts' are caused by HPV. I have one that is actually a benign mole.

There are, as noted by others in the thread, many identified 'strains' (127) of HPV, some of which (2) cause warts, some of which (19) cause cevical cancer, and some that don't seem to do much of anything.

Anyone that has a questionable growth/mole/skintag/whatever should see a doctor, and aviod sexual contact until diagnosed. Taking advice found on this board is not a substitute for seeing a doctor. Taking advice found on TV commercials is not a subsitute for seeing a doctor.

The HPV Vaccine (gardasil) only protects against two types of HPV.

Having one type does not mean that you do not have another.

Dear All,
Thanks again. I did go to the doc and had one removed for testing. And I thought I was strong and could take pain. I guess I will not be good for medical scenes. I just screamed at the thought of a needle going into my testicles to numb it for removal.
Now it is wait and see. But he did not think it was virle or an STD.

My 2 cents, for what is worth....

I have HPV and no, I don't know how long I've had it.  I've had sex with my fair share of men and no, I never saw anything even resembling a wart.  Of course they all thought and said they were STD free.

I had an abnormal pap smear once, and the resulting colposcopy was not fun.  Basically shooting your uterus full of dry ice just ain't my idea of a good time.

Other times, when an external wart popped up, I had the local health department paint it with acid.  I thought waxing my mons was painful, sorry, acid has it beat.  Even more fun, I had an inexperienced doctor once that painted the ENTIRE area with the acid.  Still not fun.

Did I mention I am not a masochist?  Yeeow!

So....then I have all sorts of fun folks asking, "Can't you just perform fellatio anyway?"  Uh, no.  HPV transmission is by skin contact.  Picture yourself having sex with an infected person while you're wearing a condom.  Did your skin touch their skin?  Of course it did.  Will you get it?  Probably.  Will it spread to your entire genital region.  Probably.  Will someone else perform fellatio on your diseased member and get the disease transmitted to their oral cavity/mucous membranes?  You bet your sweet ass they will.

So, yes, I'm still just fine at performing fellatio, but do you really want me to?  Probably not.  Can I play with folks who have been vaccinated?  Sure.  How many people have been vaccinated?  Not many.  3 shots & $160 and 6 months.  Still cheaper than cervical cancer.

Thank you for listening to my mini Q&A.  Your mileage may vary.  Best of luck to you suckers out there who think condoms will cover you.......

.....bring on the latex bike shorts with the penis sheath!  Hooray!  Rubber fetishes save the day! (grin)

From todays AP news:

One in four U.S. women ages 14 to 59 is infected with the sexually transmitted virus that in some forms can cause cervical cancer, according to the first broad national estimate.

Researchers have estimated that 20 million Americans have some form of HPV. The study concluded that 26.8 percent of U.S. women are infected, a figure that is comparable to earlier estimates using smaller groups.

Just 3.4 percent of the women studied had infections with one of the four HPV strains that the new vaccine protects against. But that doesn't mean the vaccine should be written off, said Dr. Yvonne Collins, an assistant professor of gynecologic cancer at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

I also contracted HPV from my first dom who swore he was clean.  It was a non-wart variety,  but showed up as cervical dysplasia, a pre-cursor to cervical cancer, as i understand it.  I had the LEEP procedure (scraping of the cervix) done and my subsequent paps have all been normal.

I strongly urge all females to get regular paps and all females in the right age range to get the vaccine. I would also urge all men who know they are carriers to abstain from genital contact.  This disease is spreading way too fast.

HPV is everywhere.
I read that by the age of fifty, something like 80 percent of all women will have been infected with HPV.
The body sheds this virus itself in most cases.

This is true.  And most people don't realize they have it.
This is why yearly pap tests are so important for women.

~ fast reply ~

One thing very few people seem to realize is that the HPV virus that causes cervical cancer can also cause penile cancer, so it's just as dangerous for men as it is for women.

Also, a female condom protects a larger skin area so may be useful in preventing the skin-to-skin contact that is so dangerous with an HPV carrier.

They're not necessarily genital warts--they might be intrusion cysts which are like testicular acne; they're totally benign. Chances are, if they look like HPV or HSV warts, then that's what they are and you should discontinue using a mistress at all when you have an outbreak. HPV and HSV never totally leave your system; stress and sickness can cause another outbreak at any time and even after the legions are gone, old skin cells can transmit the virus. See a doctor to see what you have though.

I have been to the doctor and am still waiting results. He did not think they were genital warts, but did remove one to have it tested. Now  I wish the discomfort would leave. The scare is big also and can not session for a while anyway.

Thank you for all your input. The results are that it was a cyst and not a STD. Now I just have to wait for the cut to heal on my testicles. It is unconfortable due to its location and rubbing. Any advice on reliving and making it more comfortable would be helpful.
One thing for sure my wife/mistress is happy that it was benign. And my mistress can not wait to see me.
