I have been called a fake many times cuz, I don't live the 24/7 or D/s lifestyle.
I am a Dominant woman but, I just don't wanna live it 24/7 and DO NOT want a
live in sub or slave.
So, that makes me a fake!!!!

If you are going to be a dominant woman (or any woman of strength) you need to get beyond worrying about what people with closed-minds think about you.

Life is far too short to let anyone else dictate what you do or what you enjoy. If the way you've chosen to live your life works for you, then the hell with whether or not others think you're "true" or "real" or any of that crap.

Besides, I never got a copy of the Real Domme handbook, and am not good at following the rules of others anyway.

First time I've seen it mentioned but by broadcasting this here it will definitely allow many others will read it-- thus promoting your own frustration... (I don't get it)

At any rate... Katy nailed it... you really have to get past fretting over another person's opinion of your declared status. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & no matter how dominant you or anyone else may be... you can't control the world's perception.

I have been called the same thing many times. Not on here but in other places. I don't mind living the 24/7 if the right person comes along. But I don't go by the same set of rules as others. I can't believe how people online that don't even know you face to face has the audacity to call someone else a fake. In the beginning it would bother me to no end. I would cry in my private times where no one knew it bothered me. Today I say the heck with it. I learn and grow everyday, and what I learn is for me and no one else. One day I will figure out what I am in this lifestyle, and until then all I ask is for understanding, but on the same note I don't let it bother me anymore. The only way someone can call me fake or whatever is if they REALLY know me. You know what I mean?

I don't follow rules very well.. I like to make up my own. I live my life the way I see fit. Do what I want not what others want.

Yeah we all get called that at some point...and sometimes it's just because we disagree with someone else or their cup of tea is not ours.
 
My new saying is get it, or get over it (to the people who call us fakes [:D]).

Diane, have you thought about those little igloo dog houses? You could pop a couple of those in the backyard with a nice log chain and pad locks on the collars for a "real" & "true" 24/7 experiance!

It amazes me how often people here who claim to be lifestylers mirror the vanilla world so much.  Unfortunately they are still at the high school level.....

There are some people that just don't understand the english language, or they are in the mindset that they are SO good that you couldn't possibly mean that comment applies to them.
