I have been married for 3 yrs and going strong. Before I met my husband I was always the dominant in all of my past relationships. I thought there was not another way for me. One of the things that attracted me to my husband was that he is so much like me and on the same level. We clicked instantly. Our intrests and personalities are the same. He is my match in every way. It has been challenging I will admit. With him I was able to let the reigns loose so to speak. He takes care of me and I him. I have relaxed in my marriage and gradually turning over more and more to him. Come to find out I love submitting to him even more then I loved being the dominant one. Although the door to submission has been open to me I do not wear one of collars or cuffs 24/7 I am branded with ink on my left breast where the heart lays beneath, he has my name on the same place. I am proud to be his and he feels the same. To let the ego go and feel the heart means more to me then "who is constantly in control". I love being with a Dominant and being in love, living life to the fullest happily.

Dom/Domme does work for a lot of people.

No more so than someone willing to have sex with a different gender than their normal preference becomes bisexual or homosexual.

A Domme who does not seek to find someone else to control her, but is willing to let her Dom partner take the reins, is a woman who knows the art of compromise, has a lot of trust, and is still a Domme.

I think of orientation as based on desire - what we are attracted to, what draws us. I am attracted to women and men both, I am bisexual. I know male subs who are attracted to women only. If Mistress said "suck his cock" they would, out of submission and obedience, but they aren't attracted to men. So they remain heterosexual, in my viewpoint.

Dominance and submission is a spectrum, and it is an orientation. If you are turned onto, attracted to, drawn by the concept of Dominance, but would endure someone else being in charge out of love, trust, and compromise, you are no less a Dom/me.

I've also run into the odd situation where there are Top/bottom switches (you can do things to me or I can do things to you) that are on the D/s spectrum firmly on one side or another. I.E. I only have the desire to submit when it comes to power exchange, but I enjoy topping someone else for sheer play, or being bottomed. Using the term switch for both the top/bottom spectrum and the dominant/submissive spectrum makes it tricky.

And being willing to switch, again, doesn't change your self identity or orientation.

i've seen it go both ways honestly. i think the chases of it working are the same for any other relationship. Open, honest communication and finding a balance between the two people. i would assume, as others have mentioned, that satisfying that Topping need would require bringing in an outside submissive, but then again, it could be fun to see two Doms trying to top each other.

On a side note... i've also noticed that even the most dominate of Dom/mes can sometimes have a desire to shed that role for a bit and let someone else take control.

I have to make another post on this subject again.
In terms of some of the mutal play we engaged in at times.

Pair of Dogs -We both sometimes to pretend to be a pair of dogs.. crawling on the floor, growling, barking, sniffing, licking.. and everything things dogs do when the play together. Have to do yet another one... for those fans of
