Thank you so very much; YOU are appreciated.  Popeye has definetly spurred on some lively debates here.

The one thing I notice, is this aguement of 'religion' and God.....from where ever it originates...people are so absolute in their statements....arguing as if God is real, a known quantum; that religion, is a reality.....and each one's belief is absolute; there is no other way, but mine; no matter who that person is, and which 'faith' they choose. If you are a different 'label' then you are wrong and going to hell, sort of thing.

Addressing the Bible's 'Book of Job'.....generally it is believed to be a testament of a man's faith in God. Weeelllllll.....lets see here; two super enities, make a bet, " hey God, look at Job, a devote man who worships you in all things."  God replies, Proud and pleased as punch....."Yes, Job is a man of God, he loves me, and I love him for loving me."  Er..remember, pride goieth before a fall.....back to story....Satan says..."Yeah, but let me smite him, and he will curse you with his dieing breath.".....God speaks  "No way devil, but go ahead, touch whatever you may of Job's but only spare his Life."

So Satan, with permission of God, does his worse to Job, an innocent, God loving and fearing, rightous man. Ruins Job's business totally, kills his wife and children, besets disease upon Job; all in all, every nasty thing that could be done is done. Job's friends admonish at Job..."God has forsaken you, curse him and die.' they admonish Job......but he replies...."NO, even though he slay me, yet will I trust him."

WOW !!!!! now that's profane...er  profound.

Well, what about Job's wife and children????? What about all those who depended upon Job for their livilhood???? and the sores and boils, his own personal tribulations, sufferings, heart wrenching, soul gutting agonies???????

For a Bet.....give me a break. A test?????

And Job because he was steadfast, in the face of all, proved his love for God...had more in the last part of his life than that which was taken from him.

Las Vegas has nothing on God and his betting. Satan had to have permission from God.....so who?... in effect, did the shit to a rightous man,... but Satan catches the blame.

Conclusion...whatever happens to you, done to you by your master, your God, the authority over you; do not question  'how come'; just believe in the authority above you, ask no question, never become ouraged in unjust decisions no matter what; and you will be rewarded, and have more at the end, than you had at the beginning.

So, the elitist, self appointed rulers sujegate their citizens, their followers.

Just a thought.....begging your pardon.....just a thought.

So, back to Popeye's original querry.....how much praise?  the answer is, the praise, adoration must be constant, never ending, the foremost thought in your mind, the reason for living; the louder the better, the more fanatical the better.....all fascista demand it, enjoy it, relish and revel in it.

Do you not know, the outer appearance of a Church, wherein dwells the authorty above all, even the body politic.......is called;...a Facade.

Those who yell shout praise god are normally servants of archons, or the demi-urge/creator not seekers after truth and enlightement

Ferryman, well I like everyone have had bad things happen in my life and well as some injustices that can never be set right.
I just think that those things are random selection and I still believe in God.
What I have a hard time understanding for instance is Jews at the wailing wall rocking back and forth for hours, or Catholics saying a rosary over and over for hours.
Do they think that if they only pray for 44 minutes that God won't listen to them but if they pray for an hour or more God will listen to them?
I had a real pain in the ass holy roller living next to me up in New Hampshire, she couldn't get three words out of her big fuckin mouth without preaching.
I told her one time that if she was so much into God then why was she sticking around here on earth and told her to go and kill herself so she could be with God right away.

Hey Popeye; What a great discussion you have going here, some replies I wish I had said, great stuff here. Really enjoyable, informative reading.

Some time back, Oral Roberts, the big time evangelist, wanted to raise more money for his various affairs, he got on the radio, TV, exclaiming the financial blight of his 'church' and university. He stated he needed X amount of dollars, by a certain date, or God will call him home.

Now, I don't know if this promotion worked or not, but, I heard alot of people saying LOL; "Well, isn't that what he has been preaching about all these years, to be with God in heaven, to be called home, isn't that what they all preach, hunger for, hope for, and pray for, to be called home."

Anyone can believe in God, I have no issues with any belief in any diety. And....yes, shit happens. Horrible things happen to people; the point I was making, or attempting to make is ...The Book of Job, focuses on unwavering, absolute trust, faith, belief in a higher authority over a person. That if that authority heaps all manner of nasties upon you, for a whim, to test your faith, to prove a point; you should be still and trust, if you do so, then you will be rewarded.

Remember Job lost his wife and children; all his material possessions. Now, wives are replenishable, hell, dump one, marry another. One dies in, a horrible death, no consequence, you'll have another before the sun goes down. Your children die, so what, just fuck and make more. Possessions, material, may be, replaced, maybe; but lives, never, once lost, gone forever and ever. And what of Job's wife's dreams, hopes, ambitions, faithfulness; the children, of their hopes, the loving times, trusting in 'Dad'.

In ALL, I mean ALL discussions of the Book of Job, I have encountered, not a word, nor mention of his wife, or children, ever is considered. The focus is always upon trusting God, no matter what. Trust in a higher authority could be translated, interpeted, to mean, in any official that has power over you...King, President, policeman etc.

This is a perspective I see in this bible book. When injustice is heaped upon the innocent and rightous, through no fault of theirs, at an authorities idle whim, then there should be outrage, accusations, of the highest magnitude.

Talk about your holy rollers.....I've heard them pray, aloud in a most ear piercing voice, "Lord, God, No Matter What It Takes, save.....(insert name)......save them, oh Lord, my God."

Do they realize what they say here? Over and over, I've heard this, East, West, North and South. I shuddered when I heard this.

Well, since a God, in no matter what form he/she takes and is called; that one, to be acceptable in society must believe in; I think, I'll believe in ......Jennifer Lopez...no wait...Janet Jackson. Yeah that's it, I'm going to start a church....what will I call it....okay, how's this....'The Most Sacred Holy Vaginal of Janet Jackson Church of  Living Saints'.

Now, I need some funding here, I need 20 million dollars, to help the poor and spread the word of the Gospel of The Holy Vaginal of Janet Jackson; I'll build a university to train and educate the missionaries; to send them out to the world, two by two, on bicycles. WILL YOU JOIN ME MY BROTHER ?????

PRAISE THE LORD...er, I mean PRAISE JANET JACKSON.

Join with me Brother, raise up your holy hands unto the Holy Vaginal of Your God; GLORY, I say, GLORY, GLORY !!!!! yadda, yadda, yadda.

Do I get a hallejhla here?......Amen?????

Ferryman, yeah, I've wondered about that too in Job why they treat his wife and kids as though they're just "B" actors in a story or something.
"Let's wack some innocent people to make a point.
"'Keep believing and keep sending in the cash to the Catholic Church!"
Oh, and yes, Oral Roberts should have been glad he'd be "called home" if he didn't get enough Mool-lah!
And I'm supposed to "feel bad" for praying to hit the Powerball Lottery?  Fuck them!
If I hit the Powerball Lottery the Catholic Church isn't getting a fucking dime off me!

You got it brother !!!!!! If I hit Megabucks.....fuck the church. Nothing wrong with praying to be a winner.

The church always drives it home, you are a worthless sinner, unworthy of his (God's Love) love. Yeah, unworthy, but your dollars are worth something. Right.

The CatholicChurch conspired with the Nazis in WW2, it's no wonder now, they have a nazi pope. Finally, they conquored all.
