ROFLMAO    This thread has missed the point.  The point is that Lincoln got elected and it has been down hill ever since.   And that only Democrats are the good guys and their scandals don't count.   ROFLMAO

Lincoln was not a Democrat.

If there is anything I have learned in my 20something years of life...if not how to count...is that almost all politicians are petty little power barons concerned only with their own narrow short-term self interest.

In my life and throughout history what has been generally the case is that the Democratic venality has come from their legislators while most Republican scandals involved the executive...by far the more damaging corruption.

Suffice it to say that while most politicians are corrupt...the Democrats are amateurs while the Republicans are real pros.

ferryman777 -> RE: How many Republican scandals can you name? (4/3/2007 7:44:33 AM)

When I was in France, I found the people to be .....just fine; no attitude problem at all. I thought to myself, if you are an arrogant american, coming with your american rudeness, they are going to give you attitude and rudeness right back in your face. And; what would one expect.  The food without exception the very best in the world; nothing whatsoever like the overall cardboard & cucumber taste of american food.

Regarding the surrender monkeys of WW2.....they hung that ruling bastard.

They have their faults, but does not every country.

Retirement there at 55........HERE in the USofA, before congress, there is a bill standing, to push retirement to 75 years of age. It has been concieved and presented since a few years ago.  Now, this Bush war, the invoice will come due; don't be surprised if SS has to be modified to 1) save it, for our children's future 2) help pay for Bush's war.

Please, don't mind me, it's just my 'knee Jerk' reaction.

Hey cyberdude... what happened to defending our President when he recently claimed , on many occassions, that he never said that al qaeda and Saddam were linked?....Care to comment on that?...Seemed like you kind of wanted to avoid the conversation after you posted in agreement with our most recent  "Lying President."

Doesn't it piss you off to have to defend the actions of people who have no comprehension of the truth or honor?

That's kinda funny that you are doing the exact same things for the Dems.

Just because you like their "politics" doesn't make their crimes any less repugnant.

Both parties are strife with scum and they only care about themselves - you can Repub bash all you want, but while you are confronting the Repubs, the Dems are taking you from behind.  (Of course, when you turn around to say, "stop it"; then the Repubs will take their turn tapping your a**)

If you think the answer to our problems is one party or the other, then you've already admitted defeat.

How about Theodore Rosevelts not getting an environmental study done before building the panama canal?

not at all domi, that  is being no more than  a  careful fly.  If you don't land, you  run less risk of a swatting, but  I will point out that there are electronics that can fuck you up.

(Domiguy looks down at the Domidong and notices that it does tend to teeter towards the left) You are right no matter who is in office their "crimes are no less repugnant."

But if you read my post it said our most "RECENT lying president"  And it just seems that there are far too many Pres defenders who at this stage of the game, out of respect for their party, should at the least recognize this administrations substantial failings and be looking on how to correct a horrible situation.

I'm  looking forward to a few years from now when I will once again have to part with my presonal beliefs and values to justify the actions of the next Dem Pres....lol.

Of course, Lincoln didnt even bother to free the slaves until 2 years into the war, only in those states in revolt, and only because the Limeys and the Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys said they would not send him aid him in the war to subjegate the agrarian south unless he did so.

On a positive note, I get time and a half on his birthday, so I suppose it all works out.

Dude, I worked on Lincoln's birthday and got time and a half.

Because I worked 1600 hours last year, I also got a check for 8 hours pay for that day.

(for those taking notes, that means I got paid the equivalent of 21 hours of union scale for working 9 hours)

The shipping companies have to pay us according to the contract we negotiated, I dont really give a rat's keister what the government says is a holiday.

United we bargain, divided you beg.

Sinergy

p.s.  I finished job A on Sunday (8 hour guarantee) early, and went back to the hall and picked up another job and got paid 5 hours (only 5, some nitwit got fired and was paid 4 hours for it) for that one.  This is called "doubling up."

Ever think about debating without the name calling?

Seems when one stoops to name calling it invalidates even the best of arguments.

Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809April 15, 1865) was the 16th President of the United States (March 4, 1861April 15, 1865). As an outspoken opponent of the expansion of slavery and a political leader in the western states, he won the Republican Party nomination in 1860 and was elected president later that year

justplainjava -> RE: How many Republican scandals can you name? (4/4/2007 2:15:44 AM)

Greetings
what some need to remember is that free the slaves, would not have even been an issues if the contential congress had forbidden Jefferson to include in the constitutaiong and the bill of rights, but Ben Franklin knew that if the freeing of slave was included in bill of right then the southern states would not have ratifited the consitution, ( yea i know i blew the spelling but you get my point
